Continued one-shot 2

"Enjoy fighting them rangers!" Digster shouts, and I follow his voice to see where he was, he was now standing on the outskirts of the battle on the other side of the clearing. I turned away to focus on the fight, but made sure everyone saw where he was, the minions charged at us quickly, giving us just a few seconds to react, and the fight started. It was just like when we battled Rita's rock minions, only these were a little tougher, being made of magma and all, but we were all doing a good job. The fighting easily lasted for 10 minutes until Digster I guess got bored and decided to join, he would occasionally throw a grenade at one of us, making us have to leap away to avoid getting burned, and by the time that we were halfway through with these minions we were all exhausted, but continued pushing on. The exhaustion was causing us to make mistakes, for example, Kim wasn't paying attention and got wrapped up in one of the minion's arms, but thankfully Zack was close by and helped her out, something similar happened to Billy and Trini bailed him out, it was all just a mess.

To make matters worse, Digster had honed in on Jason and started walking towards him, Jason was battling the most minions out of us all, so he wasn't paying attention to his surroundings. Digster walked closer to him, and started raising his staff, the staff started to glow at the end, and the glow shot up the staff to the point, almost like it was charging up. I then realized what was about to happen, I scrambled to get away from my minions, "Jason!" I shouted, trying to get his attention, but it didn't work, Digster started raising his staff and pointed it directly at Jason. "No" I terrifyingly rushed out, and finally scrambled away, I sprinted towards Jason's direction, "Jason!" I shouted, and he finally looked up, I managed to get right to him, when Digster shot out a magma blast from his staff, I pushed Jason out of the way just in time. We both landed on the ground, breathing heavily, "thanks" he said, and I nodded and we both went to stand up quickly, but as soon as I stood up my knees buckled slightly, it was then that I felt a burning sensation on my left side. I winced as I moved to look at the burn, "Maddy? Are you alright?" Jason asked, worried, I nodded gently, but the more I stood here, the more it burned, "it just burns a little, that's all" I lied, Jason seemed to buy it for now.

The other's had joined us at the point, they had taken care of Jason and I's minions, and now all that was left was Digster. Digster laughed hysterically, "oh! I almost got you red ranger, Rita would have payed me even better if I hurt you, oh well", Jason got angry, "where is Rita? How are you involved with her?" he asked angrily, the monster only laughed, "all in due time puny rangers, now if you don't mind I got what I came for. So ta-ta for now" and before we could do anything, he disappeared. Jason turned back to us angrily, "hey man, don't sweat it, at least he's gone, and if he comes back, we'll definitely get him then" Billy tried to reassure Jason. But he was having none of it, Jason brushed passed us and got onto his bike, not saying a word to any of us, Trini came to my side and offered to help me clean up the burn when we got back to HQ (that's what I'm going to call their morphing grid/hangout spot), I nodded and told her I would appreciate it very much. Although Jason was mad, he still waited for us all, but once we were on our bikes he revved his and sped off, not bothering to wait for us. I won't lie I was a little embarrassed by the way he was acting right now, being his girlfriend and all, Kim rode next to me on the way back, "maybe when we get back you can pull that stick out of your boyfriend's ass" she joked, I didn't say anything only nodded.

When we got back Alpha 5 greeted us, telling us Jason had already went to the morphing grid to explain to Zordon what happened, and told us we should probably go there, we all nodded and jogged that way. When we got there it seemed like Jason had just finished talking to Zordon, "greetings rangers! Jason tells me the mission was unsuccessful" Zordon said, "we're all alive and not banged up pretty bad so I would call the mission a partial-success" Zack joked, but Jason was having none of it. "Don't you get it? This isn't a game! We need to start practicing more an acting more serious, we can't be goofing off in the lunch room anymore" Jason directed to mostly Kim and I, we both looked down. "We can't be goofing off in detention" Jason directed towards Zack and Billy, who also hung their heads, the only one to not feel his wrath was Trini. "Jason! This is not how you lead a team!" Zordon snapped at him, "ya! Well maybe if Maddy didn't keep trying to get herself killed, I wouldn't be as angry as I am! Do you know how hard it is to be a leader, and worry about someone you love 24/7, who is also constantly in the same danger as you are!" he shouted at Zordon. He didn't realize what he said until it was said, regret washed over his face, "Zordon, I'm sorry Zor-", but he didn't finish, "go home, all of you. Maddy get that burn treated by Alpha 5 before you go", then he disappeared into the wall.

Everyone started to leave, I told my sister I would just meet her back at home, I told her to just take my car, and I would walk back with Trini and Jason, no matter how awkward it was going to be. She nodded and her, Zack, and Billy left, leaving the 3 of us, "let's go get that burn treated" Alpha 5 said to me kindly, I nodded and Trini and I followed, I didn't bother asking Jason if he was going to follow us, I was too pissed off. Once in the medical room, Alpha 5 got right to work and within a matter of minutes he was done, he said the burn would be sore for a couple of days, but it would be gone after those couple of days. I thanked him and Trini and I walked out, we walked passed Jason who had waited in the doorway the whole time, when I saw he wasn't following I stopped, "are you coming Jay?" I asked gently, I wasn't as mad as him as I was. He only nodded and walked passed us, we left the quarry and walked to Trini's house in the most awkward silence ever, once we dropped her off, Jason offered to walk me home and I accepted, hoping to get him to talk on the way there. It was a short walk to my house, and I still couldn't get him to open up, until I stopped in front of my house.

"Why are you being such an asshole?" I demanded, he wouldn't meet my eyes for a minute, until I grabbed his chin and pulled his face to mine, "let me in Jason" I whispered, but he brushed my hand off his face, I won't lie, that hurt a little. He turned to walk away, "don't you walk away from me Jason Scott!" I shouted, and he stopped, he clenched his hands into a fist and turned to my quickly, he raised his hand and pointed as he yelled at me. 

"You don't get it do you! I don't need you to save me every time you feel like I'm in trouble! I can handle myself just fine without your help! What I can't handle is having to worry about you every time we go into these battles and wonder is this going to be the fight were Maddy pushes her luck too far? Is she going to die this time?" that definitely hurt me, "Do me a favor, the next time you feel like you need to help me, don't!" he shouted into my face.  (i feel like this is what his face would look like after yelling at maddy. angry, sad, and regretful)

I'm not a big crier, never have been, but that got under my thick skin, tears gathered in my eyes, and Jason finally saw what he had done, "Maddy" he whispered and went to reach for my face to wipe the now falling tears, I shook my head no and he stopped. "You don't want my help, fine!" I whispered and turned and ran to my house, not looking back at Jason.
