Chapter 37: Were the same

Authors POV

Usagi was currently holding the paper that consumed information on the mission she had to do with Blitz, wherever he may be. Usagi sighs as she checks the time on her phone and grumbles under her breath.

He's late. Technically, Blitz didn't even say he was going to come to the park to meet with Usagi after school to do their mission, but more like a shrug and a 'maybe' before hanging up. She grumbles as she impatiently walks around the park.

While fussing over what time Blitz was gonna arrive, Usagi found herself staring at a young couple who had a 2 year old looking daughter. She was smiling and laughing as she played at the playground with her parents watching her and occasionally playing along. Oh how she wished her parents were still with her. She'd do anything to see them for once more.

Her eyes turned emotionless as she ponders a bit on the subject. If she wasn't born, her parents would have fought about who would have to take care of her during the divorce signing. Heck, they wouldn't even be divorced if it wasn't for her. Maybe if she died, everything would have been a lot more better than it was now.

A sad smile slowly made its way to Usagi's mouth. Maybe, just maybe if she can take her own life, she can go to the other side and apologize to her parents. She can hug them, kiss them, and play with them like they were suppose to.

She quickly snapped herself out of her trance. No! She couldn't take her life, what would he friends say? What would her aunt and uncle do? She had people who cared about her and she doesn'twant to imagine what pain they would have to go through if they found out she took her own life. She sighed.

"Usagi right? "

Usagi turned her head to see Blitz. She really never heard his voice before so she was really surprised to see that it was him.
Usagi stood up and took the sheet of paper before nodding.

"Yeah, let's go. First thing is to.... Wait what the heck?! "

Usagi sputtered. Blitz rose an eyebrow at her and snatched the paper from her hand and read through it. He signed before grumbling under his breath.

"Damn you Moriku "

They both whispered under their breath. The mission was to so called strengthen their bond or whatever. According to Moriku, half's bonds are not really quite that strong so their mission was to strengthen theirs. Usagi cursed under her breath as she sighs and sits down on the nearest bench she could find.

Blitz then popped himself on the same bench next to her. They both knew neither of them wanted to 'strengthen their so called bond'. So Usagi just hummed a melody. Though, it was an erie sort of melody.

Blitz rose an eyebrow at her. Who in the world would sing something as creepy as that? He then curiously tapped her  shoulder. She stopped humming and looked towards him and rose an eyebrow.

"What? "

She asked.

"Why were you singing that creepy song? "

He asks with a weird look plastered on his face. Usagi thought about it for a while and shrugged.

"Eh, it was from one of my favourite shows. Beside it wasn't that creepy... "

She mumbled under her breath. Blitz rolled his eyes.

"And what show did you get it  from? A serial killing show?"

He scoffed. Usagi pondered on it for a while and shrugged.

"Well Deadman Wonderland isn't exactly a serial killing show but does have lots of Gore... I don't  really know anymore "

Usagi said.Blitz just rolled his eyes at her before  the silence took over. Usagi pondered even more on the topic of her parents as her eyes once more turn emotionless. Blitz noticed the sudden changed and asks her.

"Your eyes "

He mumbles. Usagi turned her attention towards him.

"What's with my eyes? "

She mumbles. He signed before bringing his face close to hers and thoroughly examining her eyes. He sighed and pulled back.

"They're lifeless... Emotionless.. Usually your eyes have a tint of colour in them but they usually swap between the grayish colour and your purple colour "

Blitz explained. Usagi found it weird how he noticed while her friends didn't notice it before. She simply Shrugged.

"Sometimes it happens because I think a little too much.. "

She sighs.

"It's your parents isn't it? "

Usagi's body froze as her eyes widen. How the hell did he know?! She slowly turned her head with a face of pure shock.

"How did you —? "

Usagi asks but was cut off by Blitz.

"I could tell from your facial expression. People usually have a specific facial expression if the topic was on their parents. Besides, I wouldn't know.. I don't have parents anyway.. "

Blitz sighed. Usagi's eyes darkened as she gripped her fist. She then sent him a punch toward his abdomen. Blitz got plunged back toward a tree and coughed up blood.

"What the.. hell is your... problem.. "

He muttered under his breath. Usagi raises her head to meet with Blitz's eyes and pointed a finger toward his chest.

"Listen up, I don't want any crap talk about how it dont have any parents to how you feel so god damn lonely. Even though your birth parents aren't here, even though you know your adopted, you still at key have a dad. He pays for you school bills, he gives you food, he gives you all the gadget you can dream for. And you have siblings. Even though they may be not related to you by blood but they are still your brothers no matter what. "

"Looks at me. I hated my parents and shouted at them just before they died. You know miserable that feels?! Having the last moment with your parents being a moment where you shouted at them and hated them! And more I don't have any siblings, I only got my friends left. They are the only ones who actually care about me that the would spare a glance at me! Heck my so called old sister 'Bear' as he nickname goes is also adopted and hates me with her life. So I guess neither of us have luck on our side. "

Usagi finishes as she crossed her arms.She sighs as she extends a hand towards Blitz. Blitz hesitantly was accepts it and wobbly stood up. Usagi sighed and looked down before apologizing.

"Sorry... Got a little carried away... I guess. "

She chuckled.

"I guess I didn't really want this life. I wanted to protect the only family I had left but look what we got dragged into...
Ah, how life sucks. We didn't even ask for any of this. "

Usagi sighs as a tear escaped her eye.

"Not now, I'm not gonna cry. I think Miyako would have said that to me "

Usagi chuckled. Blitz sighed before sending a slap towards her face. Usagi groaned in paid as she held her check.

"What the hell was that for! "

She shouted. Blitz rolled his eyes at her before sighing once again.

"That's for punching me and being stupid. Why do you think I'm your partner? Aren't partners roles were to help each other? Sure I kicked you and beat you but compare all the bull crap we both had to endure, its nothing right? "

Usagi frozen for a second before laughing.

"I guess, we are the same after all"
