Chapter 39: Stuck as Leaders

Authors POV

Days have passed and weeks have flown by, the girls have been training as if they're life depended on it. They also learned many secrets of their own Element such as Momoko can create an ice shield that is utmost unshakeable unless by Elemental Fire. It was late in the afternoon and everyone said they're goodbyes before going home from school. Though her friends insisted, Momoko refused and said she wanted to stay at school a little bit longer just to think.

"Well fine but if you get trapped in the school, it's your fault! "

Kaoru yelled as she, Miyako and Usagi waved at Momoko before heading back into their shared apartment. Momoko sighed before finding a nice spot to sit down and relax. She found an old, abandoned, and dying oak tree and thought it would be fine if she just sat here for a while. She placed her bag down before sitting down and resting her back against the tree. She raised her arm as she traces the outlines of the clouds with her fingers.

She sigh before dropping her hand down. She didn't expect at all that her last year of middle school would be filled with so much stress. And by stress I mean by the amount of things that have happened in the past few months.First with the accident at the science lab, to their first encounter with the boys, to even the little training time they had with Hikari before she suddenly had to go back to college and stopped their training.

Though Momoko didn't know what to think about her older sister. She would always call her onee-chan as a form of respect but when she suddenly disputed and re appeared back aligning forces with Mojo, the respect she has of her sister complete vanished. She was even disgusted to look at her. Momoko mumbled a few unclear gibberish words under her mouth before closing her eyes and taking a deep breath.

"What are you doing? You know you could fall asleep and get locked in the school right? "

Momoko's body jerked up in surprise, causing her to look around for the voice that startled her. She sighed in relief thinking it was just her imagination. But she was later proven wrong by her face being merely inches away from Brick's as he hangs upside down from the tree branch.

"AHHHHHH! "

She shrieked as she sent a punch towards his face, making him fall out of the branch he was hanging on. Momoko opened her eyes and saw Brick lying on the floor with blood coming out of his nose.

"Oops "

Momoko said as he wobbly got up and rubbed his head. Momoko slowly backed away and tried to esscape without being spotted but it was too late..

"OI DON'T YOU THINK YOU SHOULD AT LEAST APOLOGIZE TO ME FOR PUNCHING ME IN THE FREAKING FACE!! "

Shit. That's what Momoko thought when she slowly turned around to see an angry looking Brick clutching his head. Momoko laughed awkwardly and walked back towards him.

"Ah... Sorry, but it was your fault for startling me "

She apologized and shot right back to Brick. Brick rolled his eyes. Momoko then stretched and looked at Brick.

"What are you looking at? "

Brick mumbled as he clutched his head. Momoko sighed before removing Brick's hat and examining the wound that she created. She rolled her eyes and crossed her arms.

"Are you serious? Your wound isn't even that serious and your bleeding?! My god, your pathetic"

Momoko spat. Brick was now enraged by what she said and barked back at her.

"Hey! Just so you know, you have Element Z inside your body making you punch 10X more powerful! BY THE WAY JUST WANTED TO LET YOU KNOW, I'M ONLY THAT STRONG IN MY POWERED FORM YOU HAG! "

He reported back. Momoko let out a 'tch' and rolled her eyes once again. She signed as she started at the sky.She then picked up her bag and was about to leave before a lightbulb appeared.

"Do you want to fight? "

Brick snapped his head towards the direction of Momoko and rose an eyebrow at her peculiar question.

"Fight? Why do you want to fight? "

Brick asked. Momoko just shrugged.

"I want to see who's stronger, that's all"

She replied before sending in a kick to his gut, sending his flying. Brick coughed up some more blood, before glaring at Momoko and counter attacking, with a double punch followed by a back kick. Momoko swiftly dodges his attacks on her. As he did the same. Soon enough they were bored of dodging attacks. Momoko then all of a sudden stopped and regained her breath. Brick too, stopped for a while and took in some oxygen.

"Looks like we're too evenly matched if not in our power forms. Oh well "

Momoko said in pity a she took her water bottle out and took s gulp of water. Brick wiped his sweat and regains his breath.

"What's your purpose? Have you finally found it? "

Brick asked. Momoko looks at him before screwing the cap back on the bottle and smiled.

"Yeah.. I think I did, I think I have something to live for now"

Brick rose an eyebrow in question.

"And what is that? "

Momoko thought about it for a while and softly smiled.

"My friends, my mom and even possibly Moriku. Well if I ever plan o n forgiving her. What about you? Do you have anything your living for? "

Momoko asks Brick in return. Brick sighs and smirks before chuckling.

"I guess for my brother's, I am the oldest. I guess it's the same for both of us, being the leaders and all, right? "

Brick chucked. Momoko smiles before looking at the sky.

"I guess so.. "

BOOM!

Momoko and Brick immediately jerked up and saw a big explosion coming from the north of the city. They both looked at each other with widow eyes. Momoko then smelled something familiar.

"This is black Element Z... "

She whispers. Brick then looks at her wide eyes, before a voice rang through the air.

"Hello girls ~ where are you? ~"

A voice cackled. Momoko recognised the voice too well.

"It's here. The black element Z has been revived "

Momoko gritted her teeth.
