When jungkook first joined Bighit he was only 14 years old.

Worst age to be alive.

All teenagers are scared and confused, don't know what is going on, what they want, who they are, desperate to belong and be liked ... (AN: It's true. FIGHT ME)

Jungkook was no exception!

Throw in some major shyness and social anxiety to the mix and you can imagine how he was feeling at the time!

As if these things weren't enough, he was aspiring to be an idol!
His classmates always made fun of him because of that.

How is he going to make it as an entertainer if he couldn't even hold a class presentation in front of them?

But jungkook was determined!

He loved music. He lived to sing. And he was gifted with an angel's voice as his mother always told him.

He was not going to let his anxiety stand in the way of fulfilling his dreams.

So when he got the chance, he enrolled in a TV competition and even though he didn't win, he still got the kind of exposure he needed to be scouted, even though he did really badly.

Not because of his voice, or lack of talent but because of his shyness.

He was so quiet, the judges could barely hear him, but it was enough for numerous labels to find him interesting and contact him.

He decided to join Bighit, after seeing a video of a rapper that was already signed to that agency.

To his surprise, he was assigned to the same group as this rapper, along with another rapper and a dancer who was also interested in rap.

They were all 3 to 4 years his seniors, so all 3 of them were the same age, had the same passion and already lived together for a while now.

He stuck out like a sore thumb between them as he was kinda pushed into them.

He was supposed to move in with them.

As if being a shy socially handicapped junior high student wasn't stressful enough, as if moving away from home wasn't bad enough, as if being the new guy wasn't terrifying enough, as if being the only kid wasn't nerve-racking enough, as if being him wasn't painful enough.

That day jungkook found out that things could always be worse.

It's not like his seniors weren't nice to him... They were.

They treated him well, but the more they tried to look after him the more awkward and guilty he felt.

The voices in his head always telling him how they didn't really like him...

How could they? They were tough, cool rappers and then he, a kid, came along and ruined that.

Because of him they can kiss their dream of debuting as a rapper group goodbye. They were stuck babysitting him now.

They were gonna debut as an idol group alongside him.

And even though he knows that even if they did hate that, there was no way they blamed him, after all the decision came from the higher ups and there was nothing he could have done.

But you know how it is when the voices inside your head talk. The bastards know you inside out.
They know how to aim the strike to make it hurt the most.
They know how you tick, so convincing you of something is easier than breathing to them.
They have you in the palm of their hands.
