Suspicious

Before i went to bed, i asked my parents if i could skip school tomorrow because Aelia supposedly my girlfriend was sick and she was hospitalized. My parents were against me from skipping school but i skipped anyways.

I met up with Ty and he wore a simple black sweater with a denim jeans which actually looked good on him. It compliments his shy behaviour towards strangers and his sassiness. He also used the earbuds in case. "You look handsome today.", i said.

"Don't i always look handsome?", Ty replied and all i could do was laughed at him. I was about to knock on the door but Aelia had already been there waiting for us and she looked miserable. She looked really sick.

"Woah! What happened to you?! You look like a corpse.", Ty said.

"Well, even though i'm immortal, i can also be sick at times. Come on in.", Aelia led us in and my eyes were still set on her as if she was hiding something from me. Just as i was about to say something to Aelia, she dragged Ty and said, "I'll trained him. In the meantime, you can wait here and stay quiet."

"No, i won't leave Ty alone.", i replied.

"Who said he was going to be alone? He's with me. Or do you not trust me?", Aelia asked.

"No, it's not that. It's just that -- i'm always by his side.", i said.

"Chris, it's fine. I'm going to be fine, alright?", Ty gave me a soft smile and they went off to a room. I was left alone in the living room with paintings and statues. I went up to the potrait of Aelia's mother and studied it.

"Beautiful...", i was murmuring to myself and then i noticed something odd about the picture. The potrait itself was shining under the lights as if it was re-painted yesterday. I went to touch it and it was wet. "What...?"

I took a piece of tissue and tried to dab the wet painting to make it look like it was untouched but when i did that i noticed a hole.

"What are you doing?", Aelia appeared out of nowhere and her voice was different than usual.

"Is this even a painting?", i asked.

She went up to me and snatched the tissue out of my hand and shoved me aside with force. "Curious little thing, aren't you?"

Her expression was unreadable as if she wasn't herself anymore and she was being serious with what she said. "Aelia, what are you hiding..."

"While you're here destroying my property, i've done a little tweaking to your best friend.", she stared at me with her white soulless eyes and her grin. I was shaking when she asked me that. I rushed on my feet and went into the room, Ty was not there.

I ran and ran to check every room and Ty was no where to be found. I got so furious and then, there he was. Tied up and blindfolded beside Aelia in the living room casually sitting down.

As i was about to run to them, Aelia was holding onto a knife and i knew i had to slow down. "Just as i was expected, you'll do anything for him.", Aelia smiled.

"Calm down Aelia...Put that knife down."

"Tell me, is he really worth dying for?", Aelia's voice got louder and sinister.

I just stood there staring at Ty's scared expression.

"Did something happened to you? Aelia, we can talk about this...Just put that knife down.", i stepped closer to her.

"One more step and your friend gets it."

"Let him go and you can do whatever you want with me. Please let him go."

"Chris, help me...", Ty said.

"Please...Let him go.", i was shivering with fear. Then, there it was -- i could see Aelia slashed Ty's neck and they were blood squirting out of his neck and he lay flat on the floor. I was shakened and all i could do was run up to Aelia and pinned her down.

"YOU MONSTER!!", i yelled at her face.

"Kill me then.", Aelia said. Something got over me and i strangled her. She didn't tear up instead her face was in peace but someone shoved me away with a strong force and said, "CHRIS. WHAT ARE YOU DOING?!"

It was Ty. Ty checked whether Aelia was alright but she passed out. I grabbed onto Ty's shoulders and i was shaking. "You -- you were dead."

"Chris, i was outside training. Aelia told me to wait for her to come back because she went to check on something. When she was taking too long, i came to check on her..."

I grabbed Ty and hugged him with force saying, "Don't you dare leave me, Ty."

"I won't ever leave you... Now, help me carry her to her bedroom.", i helped and i could see my hands marking on her neck and couldn't believe what i did to her. I guess, it was my instinct telling me to kill her.

Hours went by fast and Aelia was finally awake, this time she looked paled and someone who aged. Ty was by her side and i was too. "Tiberius, can i speak with Christopher for a short while in private?"

Ty nodded his head and left the room. "So, you fell for it..."

"You can glamour not only yourself but everything around you. What else are you not telling me?", i was pissed off and she knew by the way i spoke.

"Oh, i have lots of secret. The hole on the painting was just a distraction and you fell for it."

"You asked me to kill you...Why?"

"You know the feeling of giving up? That's how i feel every single day."

"There are people out there who cares about you and--"

"Not everything is about them. Not everything is about you. I'm doing this for me."

I stood up and said, "Then, how selfish you are."

"Yes...How selfish I am to think about what want instead of others for once. I think you and Ty should leave me be."

I did. No, me and Ty did. After 2 weeks of not talking to Aelia, i've decided to visit her this time together with Ty.

"You know, she could be elsewhere.", Ty said.

"Eventhough you're capable of controlling your ability now, doesn't mean your training ends here.", i replied.

When we reached her house, she opened the door even before we started knocking the door. She looked like a 30 year old woman this time and the mark on her neck was still visible.

"Aelia, you need to go out from time to time. It's unhealthy for you to stay in here.", Ty said but i was just silently observing what she was going to say next.

"I appreciate your concern, Tiberius but i have to tell you boys something... My immortality is starting to fade."

I widened my eyes in shock and replied, "What-- what do you mean by that...?"

"It means that i will not live long enough to see you boys mature into adults. Yes, my powers are fading."

I didn't know how to react. Fabio told me to protect Aelia and i was letting her die instead. Ty was just as confused but i went up to Aelia and there were tears in my eyes.

"Fabio told me to protect you at all cost. You can't simply throw it away like that."

"Fabio... Even in death, he still gives the best advice.", Aelia smiled at me.

Then i truly realised what Fabio had meant... "You... I had to protect you from yourself."

"And soon, i'll be just like Fabio.", Aelia replied with a soft smile.
