First off, I wanted to congratulate the author on how well her story is doing! I think that's super amazing! You go girl! Last time I checked she was, what, #185 in Science Fiction?
Now, let's kick this review off, shall we? *rubs hands together*
Title: To Dream (First book in the Dream Chronicles Series) - I love the title. It's intriguing, without giving away too much. It's simple but effective.
10/10
Genre: Science Fiction
Blurb: This is off to a great start, but just needs a bit of a tweak for more powerful impact. Overall, it gets me interested in the story and makes me want to check it out. Which is the whole point of a blurb.
9/10
Cover: I personally love the cover. I think maybe it could be a little more... dreamlike, I guess. I'm not a designer though and it's still a pretty amazing cover. I think it screams Dystopian, which is perfect.

CHARACTERS:
I'm not going to list all the character because that would take awhile, but I'll list my favorites. All around, the characters are awesome. Read the book and I think you'll agree.
Ambert: My personal favorite. He's brave and smart, positive and outgoing. The perfect hero. Sometimes he is a little too selfless, but that's okay. It fits his personality.
Calista: She's complex, but a little less well rounded than the rest. Oftentimes she makes herself a bit of a...martyr I guess is the right word. It's harder to compare her to the other characters, however, because she is sheltered and bullied. That makes her seem shy and vulnerable, which is very believable. I still really love her and love how she changes at the end of the book, although I think that the change was a little too abrupt, I also feel like it's befitting of her personality.
Elizabeth: She just cracks me up. All around tough girl. She's snarky and full of angst, I love it.
Jake: He's completely adorable. He's a smart aleck, a bit, but in a very lovable way. He reminds me of a friend of mine.
Angelina: She is the cutest little girl ever, even with all that she's gone through. She remains positive. Just goes to show you how resilient kids can be. She's just a big ball of sunshine and I just wanna squeeze her.

PLOT
The plot is very well thought out and well executed for the most part. There are parts in the story where it loses a little bit of the action, but it picks right back up again in the next chapter with a new twist or surprise. I found it really refreshing. Something I've never really read before. I know that it's in the works of the editing phase and it's coming along swimmingly. It just keeps getting better and better.
9/10
GRAMMAR / SPELLING / PUNCTUATION
There weren't a lot of mistakes that I caught aside from maybe a bit of grammar issues in the beginning. Those have since been weeded out with editing, though. Punctuation and spelling were on point, for the most part. It was very well written when I started reading it.

OVERALL IMPRESSION
I absolutely loved this book! I'm an avid reader. So, I love to read new and interesting things. Dystopian isn't a genre I usually go for and neither is science fiction, but I absolutely loved this! It really did surprise me. I give it a 9 out of 10 and would highly recommend this book. Please go check this out and write a review. The writer is very talented, in my opinion and deserves some well earned recognition. You won't be disappointed!
