JOHNNY'S POV

What kind of fuck up was this?
Me and my junior brother, Alosco came with a plan. I guess the plan wasn't well thought. Now we end up in this madhouse. How is it that they all manage to have secrets?
   I stared at Alosco who looked lost. I guess he thought the same thing. Man, i cant wait for the twelve o'clock vigil to be over then me and my brother can scurry away. The loot. I checked around. Thank goodness. It was where we stashed it. The kitchen.

I cant go through all these drama and at the end there wouldn't be any loot.
Alosco nudged me "look at them.." He whispered. I could see the rising tension. Everybody wanted to say something but the words didn't want to come out. 
    Who i pitied most were the old people here. The poor man looked like he just wanted to kill them. I wanted to release them so they can kill each other but i couldnt risk it. I cant risk going to jail so here we were, they all tied up, me and my brother watching. Hopefully, by one, we should be out of here. I didn't plan to kill anybody. All my operations with my junior brother, i never did but they don't know that. I chuckle. Who would have thought that a plastic gun could fool an entire family.

How did we get here really?
Earlier that day, in our face-to-face compound in Ajegule, I and my brother were planning how we would get into Dolphins estate without much attention allotted to us.
     Mr Bamidele just withdrew five million naira. He just withdrew our money. All these politicians steal money and stuff it into their accounts and no one questions them. It isn't wrong stealing from someone who stole from you. Its simply taking what yours back. And although to those in the island, we are good for nothing crooks who cause trouble, we are simply like robin Hood - stealing from the rich and giving it to the poor. What was wrong in that?
  Everybody in our compound always awaited our missions. That was why they never caught us. The only person who didn't like the idea was Maryanne, the love of my life but i don't think I'm the love of hers. I buy her things and she tells me to my face that she would not accept stolen goods.  She was always too hard. Too hard!
Nothing i did, pleased her. I know there's a man out there who admires her and when i find him, I'm sure to break his neck. She's mine. Mine alone!
I broke out of my trance when the lady in green spat out "i have..cancer"
Cancer.
It claimed my mother. That was when the last chance of being good was gone. She was the most hardworking woman ever. She toiled day and night for me and my brother. She never complained when work became too much. I chuckle. The poor woman died with a smile on her face. What will she think of us now?
I could remember the last thing my mom told me before she saw my dad and passed away.
"I love you. I always have..and i always will. I want you to take care of our family. Take care of your brother.."

My brother. I glanced at him. He was paying serious attention to this family and for a second, i wished i could have tried harder so that he wouldn't have to steal like me to survive.

He deserves a better life.

Who would believe he is 19? Kid looks older than his age mates. I should just focus of getting out of here with our loot.
 
There was deep silence in the room and all attention was faced on the boy tied to a good looking babe.

Alosco nudged me. "Obob..this boy don enter!"

I smirk. Let the show go on..
