I can't remember much about what brought me to this school. All I remember were the flames, the heat, the police asking questions and my parents crying.
Parents, I don't remember much about them either. What I do know is this, my name is Amy Harrington, I'm seventeen years old and I killed my best friend and boyfriend in a fire I don't remember starting. The only way I could stay out of jail was if I spent every summer holidays at "The Angels of God School for Troublesome Teens."
I looked up at the monstrous school that toward over me. The walk from the car park to the building was the most daunting walk I had ever been on. The stone pavement clicked under my healed boots, all I could smell was freshly cut grass.I finally got to my room; I enrolled the day before meaning I didn't have to talk to anyone today. I opened the door and froze. Two beds? That meant roommates. I didn't want to talk to anyone today.
"Hi you must be Amy, I'm Jason, I'm going to....ok I have no choice but to be your guide round this place." I turned round to see a guy leaning on my doorway. He was tall with messy black hair and chocolate brown eyes; with a body that looked like it saw lots of gym time.
"Hi and yeah I'm Amy, thanks for the offer but I don't really want to be here, so I doubt you want to show me around" honestly I just wanted to be alone, I haven't cried since I was thirteen but I knew unpacking would be hard and I might break my drought. He walked over to me
"Look Amy, no one who's here wants to be here. Look at me, I'm stuck here cause my idiot brother decided to rob some store, basically if I don't help you I'm screwed." he smiled at me and jumped on the other bed. "the spare bed is for visitor day, we don't have roommates" I smiled and started unpacking, we didn't have a uniform here so I was putting jeans, tops and a few nice little dresses into the wardrobe and draws before I started the task of making this room feel like home. I put some pictures of my friends on the wall and a photo of me and my boyfriend on my dresser.I slumped down onto my bed at just stared at the photo trying to stop the oncoming waterworks. "Cute guy, lucky to have a girl like you." I blushed and wiped away a couple of escaping tears.
"His, his name was Zack, I don't remember much 'bout what happened. He took me out and apparently the whole place shot up in flames, I was the only one to survive the blaze so they assumed I started it. All I remember is the heat and flames.....and the screams" He put his arm round my shoulder and pulled me close just as I started to cry. "He was my first ever boyfriend."
"Amy, you are a great girl, it doesn't matter what brought you here, and honestly we don't have welcome groups I just really wanted to meet the new girl." he smiled his full smile and I swear it glistened like on TV. "Ok, you are more messed up then I thought" he laughed awkwardly "I also remember what it's like to be the new kid round here, some of the kids here can be real jerks to them and I wanted to look out for you." I just stared at him. He must be kidding me, I wasn't a girly-shop-till-I-drop-needs-a-guy-to-defend-me girl I was a you-piss-me-off-I-kick-your-ass kind of girl I had two older brothers I knew how to deal with people, besides we just met.
"Thanks Jason, really but I'm not that defenceless I had two older brothers." I saw his face fall this and I felt a little guilty, what harm could letting him watch out for me possibly have? "Fine I guess a little help wouldn't kill me." he smiled and pulled me into a tight bear hug "Thanks Amy, I better go find my brother; he is dying to meet you." With that he ran out of the room"Amy baby get up sweetie!" I jumped out of bed Christmas is always the most exciting time of the year because my brothers always go crazy with the decorations.
"Jasy! Age! Did you get me a present??" I ran into Adrian's waiting arms and he picked me up smiling.
"of course we did, you think we would forget our favourite little sisters Christmas present?" I giggled as Jason brought in a badly wrapped doll house. I was ecstatic I had been asking them for a doll house for as long as I can remember! Jason smiled at me putting it on my bed
"Someone's getting big for three; your wings should be coming in soon."
