I was shocked; Adrian had never been like this before. Adrian had always been protective, but I had never heard him speak like this. Walking into the room Jason's confused expression reflected my own. I went outside knowing exactly where he would be. Sure enough there he was under the massive oak in the backyard, hunched over, head in hands. I sat next to him quietly not saying a word.
"Agey! Come back!" I ran down to the tree where he was crying, he looked up at his name "Jasey said sorry! It's otay now!" I climbed into his lap trying to cheer him up.
"He made me sad Amy! I'm not his brother him say and him say him not love me!" I hugged him tight just as Jason came out and sat with us.
"Agey I am sorry. I do love you! You me big brother."I shook my head, lately I was remembering more and more. Adrian looked up at me, his eyes were the saddest I had ever seen. "Five years Amy, I lost you for five years...the thought of losing you again." I was touched; Adrian never openly spoke about his feelings. I pulled him into a tight hug kissing his head.
"Never Age, I promise I'll never leave you again." He just held me, his shoulders shaking as he started to cry. I just held onto him, running my hands through his hair. "It's gonna be okay I promise" Slowly I felt his arm tighten around me as he hugged me tight. Neither of us noticed Jason had walked out till his shadow covered us looking down at us.
"Age?" Jason spoke carefully, making sure not to set him off again.
"Team?" Adrian's voice was soft, like he was afraid of the answer.
"Of course bro." Jason smiled and Adrian stood holding onto me. I gripped his shoulders as he led inside Jason in tow.The next few days I avoided Will as much as possible. I spent most the day learning to fight hand on hand again, keeping my skills in check. Jason helped by nagging Adrian to give me a weapon, eventually he gave in.
It was late the next week and my body was in more pain than I ever thought possible. Adrian was on the floor, I had him pinned down, and my hands above his head, my breath coming out in pained gasps. "Ready at last." Adrian chuckled breathlessly. He slid me onto the floor and walked away leaving me stunned. He returned with something long in his arms covered by a long cloth. He put it on the floor and pulled the cloth off jumping into an over dramatic pose. I almost rolled my eyes till I saw what was under the cloth; there was a sword, the most beautiful sword in the world. It was long and clean silver, yet to pierce human flesh. The handle was gold engraved with a pair of wings, a ruby in each wing tip. I ran my finger over the blade, it was cold and smooth. "This Amy, is the only sword that can kill an angel, it was made for you, it will only respond to you." I stared at the sword, this was made for me, and I couldn't believe it. The sword was singing to me, a soft whisper, just my name gently, begging me to pick it up, begging to be used, begging to be ruby red covered in blood, the blood of angels. I stood up holding the sword, it was lighter than I thought, and quickly I tried it out on a practise dummy, stabbing it right through the heart. "Perfect" Adrian's voice was glowing with pride. "Whites better watch their back; the fallen are coming to attack." I stood up tall, strapping the sash around my waist and sliding the sword into the scabbard, which was also decorated to match the sword, a set of wings with ruby tips in the centre of it. "Now you're ready to fight." Adrian stood beside me his hand on my shoulder. The mirror didn't reflect a girl and her brother, but two warriors ready to fight till the death.긏l
