I got out of the car and looked at the house in front of me. The garden had white roses and a pebble path. It was surrounded by a picket fence. Jason and Adrian walked me inside, I took one look around the simple English cottage and a million memories came flooding back. I was home at last! I grabbed my bag from Adrian and ran up to my room, unable to believe I still remembered where it was. I remembered everything, each dint or crack in the wall and how it got there. The satins in the floor and the story behind each one. Most importantly I remember my brothers here. Jason cooking in the kitchen, Adrian sitting in the recliner with me on his lap telling me stories. On the walls of my room were photos of the three of us in different stages of life. On my dresser there was a photo of my parents holding me with Jason and Adrian sitting at my mother's feet. I lay down on my bed hugging the photo to my chest smiling. HOME! HOME AT LAST! I couldn't believe it, the word "home" continued to repeat itself over and over in my head like a broken record. It was late, as I looked out the window at the green hills around my house. This place was beautiful.
After an hour of walking around upstairs and checking my brother's rooms I smelt steak and chips coming from downstairs. I walked down to find Jason setting the table and Adrian sitting laughing. "Come on Amy Mum made us dinner" I laughed with Adrian sitting down next to him.
"Be nice Age, at least he can cook" Jason smiled at me in thanks and we all started eating. We talked about anything and everything that came to mind. This is what a family felt like, a smiled came across my lips, but it quickly left as soon as school came up. "Leo's with Kayla watching movies, she's worried about Will and Leo's worried about me" I said quickly not liking how much time my boyfriend spent with this girl.
"That's good, they are safe.....I'm worried about Aura" Jason had kept asking about her after I got off the phone with Leo.
"I want Amber here, I miss her a lot. I'm really worried about her." Jason and I exchanged looks before looking at Adrian who just shrugged, "Amy has all the training we can give her really, she can fight pretty good, just needs to learn her wings and to control her powers." Jason kept staring while I finished cleaning up from dinner.
"Wow you have a serious GIRLfriend, I'm shocked" Jason laughed
"Oh screw you"
"Aura does" I rolled my eyes as the boys continued to joke around. Adrian planted himself on the couch and Jason lit a fire in our fireplace, once lit I lay down on the carpet in front of it while Jason sat in the arm chair.
"So...speaking of my wings....how do they come out?" I broke the silence and within moments of the words coming out of my mouth I wished I could take them back. Both boys turned their heads and stared at me. For a moment I lost all my nerves then Adrian's words when we were training came back to me "Never back down from a fight" So I kept going, "Come on just tell me! Screw the rules this is need to know Info!" Jason sighed and gave Adrian a nod.
"Okay, so if you want them out or need them, they just come out. But you need to be careful Amy. At any point you are mad they will try and come out in order to protect you. You need to teach yourself how to control all that at once" Adrian stopped letting that sink in, I nodded in understanding and lay there thinking.I woke the next morning to the sound of my phone ringing. "Hello?" I sat up groggy, slowly rubbing sleep from my eyes.
"Amy? Baby thank god!" It was Leo and he sounded worried.
"Leo? What's wrong?"
"I miss you Amy, come meet me?" I smiled a little ignoring the fact that my alarm clock read NINE am.
"I can't Adrian and Jason wouldn't like it."
"So? I want to see my girlfriend, I'm worried about her. You remember when you showed me a map of your old town? There was a warehouse near your old place? Meet me there...please?" I knew where he was talking about, for Leo to have gone all the way there he must really be worried about me. I sighed and promised to meet him there as soon as I could. I hung up the phone and made sure the boys were asleep. I left a note explaining where I was and I wouldn't be gone long. I got dressed as quick as I could before standing on the front porch. It was colder than I thought but I was glad for the breeze, today would be the day I would fly. Want them, need them that's what Adrian said. I shut my eyes concentrating. Suddenly my back felt heavier, I looked behind me and felt the breath get caught in the back of my throat. On my back were a pair of black majestic angel wings. they were huge, I wrapped them around me and ran my hands over them. They were soft and warm, full of feathers, warm black feathers. I pushed off from my feet and jumped. I felt myself pick up on the wind and start gliding, beating my wings every now and then to stay level. Flying was amazing! I felt free, problems couldn't follow me up here. I went into the clouds looking down on the ground, a smile crossed my lips as all I could see was white. I was going to fly everywhere from now on. This was amazing!
