I woke up to an empty bed. I rubbed my eyes and sat up before walking down stairs. The whole living room furniture had been pushed aside and the whole group was sitting around listening to Adrian talk. He was talking through a plan. I noticed he had a whiteboard in the middle and was pointing to the board. Our lists of the teams were on there as well as a couple of options for the way we could attack. I looked them over and shook my head at Adrian. "What?" he frowned looking at the board.
"You're having the same issue I was last night, each of these has one of us exposed. It isn't safe, they could be killed. As far as I'm concerned no one is dying on my watch." Everyone turned to me and I walked to the board looking at it. "If my group goes in this side door here," I pointed to a hidden door "You guys go through the roof, and then we have two ways of surprise." Adrian started to protest but I cut him off "No Adrian, enough is enough; you can't shadow me all the time. You are one of the best fighters we have the other team need you. That was our issue we weren't splitting up the groups like we should have. "He looked from me to the board before nodding in agreement.
"Everyone get ready we leave as soon as we can today." Everyone got up and started getting battle items and everything else they needed while I walked to the kitchen making everyone some bacon and eggs.

Will walked in and leaned against the wall laughing.
"We are getting ready for battle so you make food." I smiled keeping my back to him
"We are soldiers, we can't fight if we are hungry can we?" He smiled and wrapped his arms round me. "Go set the table" He kissed my cheek and went to start doing what I said.
"I tried to get your sword for you, but it was too hot to hold." I looked at him and he shrugged, "It was burning, if I held on my hand would have burnt, guess that's what Adrian meant when he said for you only then?" I nodded mumbling in agreement before calling everyone to come eat.

I had made heaps of food, but it was like they had never eaten before. I'm pretty sure they would have eaten the plates if they could. Part of me remembered this could easily be a last proper meal for some of my friends and that scared me. I picked my sword up attaching it to my waist and I came back downstairs to find everyone standing in their groups looking at me. I smiled warmly at them and they all embraced me into a massive hug. When we pulled away I smiled "Let's get our friend back and kick some Angel ass" Everyone grinned and we all left, we took cars as only three of us could fly. I sat between Jason and Will, I was holding both their hands tighter than I ever had, Jason looked over at me and smiled at me trying to tell me everything will be okay and when I looked at Will he did the same adding a soft kiss to my lips. I bite my lip as we pulled into the warehouse, this was it, here we go.

As soon as the groups split I motioned for my team to get into formation, me manning the front the rest of my team spread out behind me, watching my back. We slowly stalked towards the building I nodded to Jason. He opened the door before staying behind me, I walked inside flicking my hands so there was a little flame lighting our path. We slowly walked, not meeting any trouble even though we were expecting it. I found the hallway I noticed last time and walked to the middle room, my mind imagined Amber how I had found Will, that was not however, the case. I said a silent thankyou that Adrian wasn't here to see her. She was strung up too but her hands and legs were coated with water, legs in buckets hands with wet rags. There was a cable swinging nearby, one look at the cable and I knew it was going to shock her if it hit her. I turned to my group "Cyclone, keep that cable away from her; Will get the rags off her hands and the buckets away. I'll burn the locks, Jason get ready to catch her." I walked over to Amber. "This might hurt I'm sorry" She slowly lifted her head, the cable had already hit her, she was hurt and weak but she managed a slight nod. I moved to her arms once Will had freed her hands and started melting the locks, she gave a soft whimper but didn't protest more than that. Once she was dangling, Jason took her in his arms and I moved to her feet. She held onto Jason tight and we lay her down. "How damaged is she?" Jason looked her over.
"Shocked maybe twice, but from the look of the cable it wasn't that strong, they were just trying to keep her power down. She needs heat to be able get her strength back." Jason looked at me expectantly.
"No, I could hurt her." Jason stared at me.
"Amy we told you, there will be a time a place to use your powers. We said you would need them and you need them now. Save Amber." Slowly I took her hands trying to warm her. Nothing happened. "More Amy!" I bit my lip and heated her. Thinking about Amber; the way she smiles and laughs. How she could heat up any room with the flick of her hand. Slowly the colour returned to her face and she coughed opening her eyes and giving me a smile.
"At least you didn't kick ass before I got into battle." Her voice was soft and I gave a weak laugh.
"We need to get you trained up Amb"
"No need, I've been training her since we started dating." Adrian jumped down from the level above us and knelt down next to Amber. "Don't ever scare me like that again Amber, I thought I lost you." He pressed his lips against hers and we all looked away, this was their romantic moment and I felt like I was intruding on something intimate.
"Oh how nice, you saved the girl." We heard a voice behind us and I turned knowing exactly who it belongs to.
"Leo." He smirked and walked forward, my little army instantly stood in front ready to defend me. But I shook my head at them, "Leo" I said it again, more to convince myself it was him than anything else. He didn't look like my Leo, he was wearing all white, stereotype angel wear and his wings were out, they were really something, pure white feathers, they almost glowed. I found it hard to turn my head away. I didn't feel safe anymore. I shut my eyes slowly as I felt the now familiar feeling of added weight and before opening my eyes again. A few of my friends gasped, I hardly heard them. I was focused on Leo. He was staring at my wings I gave them a small flap he used his wings to stay in place.
"I'm impressed baby, you are more improved." Beside me I saw Will's fists clench when he called me baby, I held my hand up to Will never taking my eyes totally off Leo. Once Will seemed to calm down I spoke surprised at how steady my voice was.
"First of all, I'm not your baby; second of all Don't talk to me like that." Leo raised an eyebrow
"Not my baby? I was under the impression we were dating."
"That relationship ended as soon as you relieved yourself as the prick trying to kill me" Suddenly Leo's face changed to almost sad.
"Amy, I don't want to kill you, I actually care about you." He walked to me and pulled me into his arms. "This doesn't have to end in a war, we can get marry, just say you love me and you'll be one of us, and the fighting will be over" I'll admit he almost won me over, to end this without a fight would be amazing, but I couldn't say a lie, I didn't love him, and I sure as hell didn't want to be an angel. I smiled sweetly at Leo and slowly moved my face towards his like I was going to kiss him.
"I love" I whispered in his ear "I love Will." With that I pushed him off me flapping my wings in the air knocking him into a wall while the others ran out to the cars.
