Sadie Martin's POV.

I wave goodbye to Phillip and Jackson, and turn around to make my way to the castle.

Although we got a nice view of the castle, it's a lot longer of a walk than it looks.

There were at least a thousand steps of stairs, and I was not looking forward to walking them.

I look at Lilly, stroking her mane. "Are you ready for this, girl?"

She neighed in sertainty, making me relax slightly.

I spent the trip up the stairs trying to convince myself that it was okay to kill someone, a queen for that matter.

Sadie, it's so you can go home! So you can let Phillip see his family again! Don't you want that? Besides, Jackson said the queen is evil, and destroying the life of this world. It's for a good cause... Right?

Finally, I reach the grand door of the castle. It's open, and villagers are lined up to see the queen. They look happy... Excited to see the queen.

Isn't she evil?

I walked in, and casually walked to a statue in the corner, near the Queen's throne.

I hid behind it, certain I was out of sight.

The queen was sitting on the steps of the pedestal where the throne was.

She wore a white, lacy gown with a white crown on her head, with blue crystals. Her blonde, curly hair went down to the small of her back, and her eyes crystal blue, making the crown bring out her eyes.

She's beautiful...

I was expecting some ogre queen, to be honest!

I watched as she hugged a little girl, smiling. Evil people don't hug their people!!!

Something's not right here...

"Hey!" I jumped, turning around to see a knight towering over me. "What are you doing!!" He barked.

"I... Uh..." I stuttered. No one told me what to do if this happened!

He grabbed my arm and dragged me to the queen.

"Let go of me!" I yelled, frantically kicking, stiffening myself, digging my feet into the marble floor, anything I could do! But the knight moved with ease.

"My queen, this..." He glared at me. "Girl was hiding behind the throne, waiting to kill you! We must lock her up!! Or hang her!"

Tears started rising. The knight let go of me, and I fell to my knees, begging and pleading.

"Please! I'm sorry! Jackson told me this was the only way to get home! He told me you were evil and ruining this world, he told me I was doing good!! Please, let me be, I just want to go home!" I cried.

Lilly walked up beside me, lowering her head to comfort me. I looked up at her and smiled, but then the knight grabbed her by the mane and pulled her away from me.

"Don't worry, your majesty, I will handle the girl and the horse for you, the horse shall be burnt while the girl be hung." He said, motioning one of the knights to take away the horse as he pulled me up to my feet, dragging me away. I started crying again.

I hated the idea of death, I'm not ready to die, not yet!

"Mommy, what happens when we die?" Four year old me asked.

Mom picked me up and nuzzled my nose with her own. She smiled at me. "Baby girl, when we die, we go to heaven. We live our lives with God and spend time with the family members that passed away before us."

"Mommy, I don't want to die." I shook my head, frowning. "I wanna stay here with you."

Mom chuckled, squeezing me tight. "You don't worry about that, Sadie Bug. You and I will be together for a long time before you have to worry about that."

We continued baking ginger bread cookies, laughing and hugging.

My flashback ended as the queen got up, glaring at the knight who was dragging me away to a wooden door.

"Since when do you make the laws, Captain Jimmy Jr?"

"Well, I assumed you would agree, my Queen-"

"No. You shall wait until I make the final word, you should know better." She scowled.

Captain Jimmy Jr let go of me, and bowed down to the queen. "My mistake, my queen. It will never happen again."

"Good." The queen looked down to me, her glare turning into a soft, welcoming smile.

"Come, child." She motioned to a guard, who lead everyone out of the castle, leaving me and the queen alone.

"Now," the queen started, as we both sat down on the steps of the pedestal to her throne. She seems very humble.

"let's talk about this... Jackson. Tell me your troubles." She smiled.

I told her about everything. How I got here, the woman and her son, how I met Jackson, and Phillip. I told her about my broken wrist, Lilly, and Jackson taking away Phillip's family, and not returning them until I killed the queen. I told her about how Jackson and Phillip all told me she was evil, and it was my destiny to kill her.

"My god." The queen said, fear in her eyes. "Well, I hope you see how, I am not evil?"

I nodded. "I'm sorry, your majesty. I didn't know, I thought I was doing good."

"It's alright. And they said killing me was the only way to get you home?" She asked, sympathy growing in her eyes.

"Yes, but I will not kill you, even to get home, I-"

The queen wrapped her arms around me.

"Oh, my poor girl. They've lied to you. There is no way." She said.

"What?" I said, almost a whisper.

"The only way is from the blood of Sphinx, but they became extinct eons ago, I'm sorry, Sadie."

"But... What about Phillip's family? I'm not killing you, but Jackson won't let his family go until I do."

"Where is this man? I'm going to handle it, don't worry, dear child." She smiled, but anger filled her eyes.

I told her Jackson was waiting outside the castle for me, and we hugged for a while. I could tell she was thinking of what to do.

I felt safe in her arms, I felt as if I was with my mom again. It felt great to not be alone anymore.

Writers note: ayyyee!!!! The queen isn't evil!! You weren't expecting that, were you?! Hahahah!!!
