Sadie's POV.
I stand before him, shocked. I knew somewhere inside me it was him, I just subconsciously pushed the thought out of my mind.
It can't be him. It can't!
"It..." I tried to catch my breath, I was so shocked, so terrified. I couldn't speak, breath, for that matter. My sight was starting to blank, all I could see was the past, the things he did to my mom, the things he did to me.
I didn't want that life. Not again.
"That's right, Sadie." Jackson smirked.
"Sadie, what's going on?" Sophie looks at me, confusion in her crystal eyes. She looks scared. I guess I look scared.
"He... He can't be him." I said, tears rising. "IT CANT BE!"
Jackson just simply chuckled, his voice terrifying. "Oh, I think you know it's me."
I stand still, shock and fear, any synonym for horrified, I felt it.
"Sadie, come give your old man a hug." He said, his voice sharp and demanding. It made me jump, I was shaking so hard.
I didn't move, my limbs like bolders. Jackson, or should I say father, glared at me as he started walking towards me.
Thank God, my legs start to move, I back away as far as possible, until my back hits the wall of the Rocky cave.
"Stand back!" Sophie orders, two guards hold their swords up, blocking me from my father, ready to fight.
For not even a half second, fear shoots through my father's eyes, but then he glances at the little girl, and grins. He runs up to the girl, pulls her up, and as the poor girl screams, he holds his sharp knife to her throat.
"STOP IT!" I don't even realize I'm screaming. I feel so helpless, hopeless. My father is doing what he did to me to another, poor innocent girl, and I can't do anything to stop it, except scream at him.
Stupid Sadie.
"Let her go!" Sophie barked, clenching her fists.
"Take one step, and I kill her!" My father pulls the knife up to the girls neck a little more, making everyone flinch.
Thank God it didn't cut her skin.
I can't help but think, how typical is my father these days?
"Now, you all will do what I say." He orders.
"You don't have any power here, Jackson." Sophie glared.
"Oh, but I do!" Jackson quickly jabs the knife into the girls stomach, making her scream in pain, gripping her stomach as she falls to the floor.
Phillip and his wife scream as they watch their daughter tumble to the floor.
Tears burn my cheeks as Jackson cackles.
How does he enjoy tearing families apart?
The girls mother tries to reach for her daughter, tried to sooth her, but all that comes out are muffles and her falling face first onto the floor as well.
I look up and sparks shoot up my spine as I watch Jackson walk towards me.
The guards Sophie brought tackle Jackson to the floor, punching and kicking him.
Jackson grunts and yelps in pain, but we all feel a little safer to hear him being handled with.
Just as I start to think we're all going to be okay again, Jackson punches one of the guards in the face, making him jump back. Jackson snatches the sword out of the guards hands and stabs the guard in the throat.
All I can hear are screams and cries as Jackson stabs the other guard to death, and beats the third to death.
It's a terrifying sight, watching pools of blood grow on the stone ground, crying as the guards' eyes roll to the back of their heads, taking their last breaths to symbolize they're dead.
Jackson simply wiped a little blood off his cheek, smiling at his work.
"You're so terrible." I cried, my knees giving out. I fall to the ground, my head down.
"Sadie, it'll be alright-" Sophie tries to comfort me, but she looks up to see Jackson pull her back, throwing her into Phillip.
Sophie's knocked out... No one's here to protect me, to protect Phillip and his family. We're all going to die here.
A sharp pain pearces my face, as Jackson punches my cheek as hard as he can.
I'm now laying down, crying and spitting out blood as my own father kicks me in the ribs, over and over.
"Please!!" I choked through my tears.
"I told you I would make your life terrible." Jackson pulled at my hair, making me look up to face him, wincing in pain.
"Why..." Is all I can say.
Why
A word that could lead to a million things. A word that could mean a million things to just one person.
A word that says so much on its own. A word that stops someone to think.
But not my father. No, he knew exactly how to answer that question today.
"Because I hate you." He shoots daggers at me through his glare, as he slits my throat.
He let's me fall to the floor, as everything turns blank.
All I can hear are screams and cries, Sophie running towards me.
"Sadie?" Sophie's voice is panicked, as she frantically strokes through my hair with her fingers. "Sadie, it's going to be okay, just hold on."
I hear Sophie walk away.
The last thing I hear is Jackson screaming.
Writers note: I honestly didn't know how I was gonna write this chapter, but I think this is a good way to describe Jackson's feelings for his daughter, so yeah!
Check out EwwLizzie's book, Memory of You, and Bitter Sweet Tragety. They're both really good, really cute, and romantic, if you're into that kinda stuff :>
