Today is the day Emily and I leave for New York. I'm so excited. Emily is supposed to meet me at the airport, so we could have our own goodbyes with our parents.
Dylan texted me saying how he hopes I have a safe flight and he'll miss me.I think I'm making the right choice. Right?
"I'll miss you mom." I say hugging her. Even though she treated me like crap she was still my mom and I love her. "You too. Take care of yourself girl." She says kissing my forehead. I wave to her as I get in the car.
When I got to the airport, Emily was already there and it looks like she has been crying. "Hey! Why are you crying?" I ask her. She smiles. "I'll miss my parents. And I miss Kyle." She says. I smile. "Come here." I say hugging her. "Don't be sad! We are going to New York!!" I scream. She laughs. "Yeah we are." She says. "Katie! Katie wait!" I turn around to see Dylan running towards us. "Dylan? What are you doing here?" I ask. "I'll give you two some space." Emily whispers. "Please! We can't end things this way. I love you. I know I messed up! I'm so sorry!" He says. Is this really happening? "Dylan-"I begin. "Please! Give me one more chance." He pleads. "Dylan! I gave you plenty of chances. But you keep messing up." I say. People start to notice our conversation and stare at us. "I know. But trust me! This is the last time! I love you so much Katie! You feel the same way, right?" He asks. "Flight 2654 heading for New York is now boarding. I repeat, Flight 2654 heading for New York is now boarding." A women's voice says over the speakers. I look at Dylan as he's still staring at me. "Do you?" He says again. I do. So much. But he's broken my heart to many times. "I- I have to go. I'm- I'm sorry. Good bye." I say walking towards the gate. I was trying so hard to fight back tears as I walk up to Emily who hugs me. "Is he still looking?" I say choking back tears. "He's- he's gone." She says. And that's when I started to cry. I knew he was gone. For good.
