*senior year*
The sun was blazing when we arrived at the park. Lucky I was wearing shorts and a tank top. We sat under a tree on the cold grass. "I'm glad you said yes to this." He said smiling. "Yeah. Me too." I say back picking at a leaf. We sat in silence for what felt like 100 years but was only 3 minutes. "So What has been going on while I was gone?" He finally asks. The one question I didn't want him asking me! "Nothing much. Just hanging out with Emily." I say. "How about you?" He grins when I ask him. "I finally decided what I want to do for college!" He says. "Really? That's amazing! What is it?" I ask. He takes a deep breath. "I really want to pursue in law." He says. Law!?! Really? "That's amazing!" I say smiling. "Yeah. Are you still drawing?" He asks. "Yes I am actually." I say back frowning because the only thing I have been drawing are broken hearts and black. I was miserable without him. "Well that's good." He says. "Yeah. Emily went to New York to look st the colleges there and she found a great art school for the both of us." I say. "You mom will let you go to art school?" He says. "Yeah while you were gone my mom and me patched up the hole we had." I say. He smiles. "That's great news." He says. By this point we've been under that tree for an hour. Sweat was forming on the top of my forehead. "Do you want to grab milkshakes?" He asks. "I would love to get a milkshake." I say smiling.

After we shared fries and we got our milkshakes, dylan drove me back to my house. "Who's car is that?" He says meaning by my dads car. "Oh! I forgot to tell you. My dads back." I say. His eyes widen. "That's great!" He says. Yeah. I really missed him. "Yeah." O say grabbing my bag as I opened the car door. "Thanks for everything." I say. "Thank you for coming with me." He says grinning. I wave as I walk up the steps to the front door. When he's gone, I walk inside to see my dad, Kyle and my mom all sitting at the table eating. "Hey katie." They say when they see me. "Hi. What are you doing?" I ask putting my bag on the couch. "We decided to have dinner early." My mom says. "We had chili." Kyle adds in. "What some?" Mom says. "No thanks. Dylan and I had fries and a milkshake." I say walking over to the fridge to grab a water. " ahh. The boy that left?" My dad asks. I roll my eyes. "Yes Dad. The boy that left." I confirm him.

When I got to my room, I grabbed my phone to text Emily. "Had fun with Dylan. Want to study for that English quiz tomorrow?" I text. As I wait in response, Dylan's name pops up. He texts, "had a lot of fun tonight. Maybe we can hang tomorrow after school?" I smile as I reply, "after school it is." When Emily still hasn't replied,  I decided to sketch.

When it was around 9 p.m. Emily still hasn't texted me so I went to the bathroom and took a shower. After I got out, I put on my pajamas and went to bed.

The next morning when I got to school, everyone was looking at me and whispering. I could only hear a few things they said. "If I was her friend, I would want to do that too." Or, "no wonder she did it." I was so confused when suddenly the principal came up to me. "Katie. Please come with me to the office." He said. I looked over to my locker we're Emily wasn't standing there but dylan was and he had a confused look. I shrugged and walked into the office. When I sat down the principal let out a sigh. I was officially scared. "Katie. Your friends with Emily right?" He asks. Why does he want to know? "Yes. Is she ok?" I asks. He frowns. "I'm afraid not." He says. Why the hell? "What happened?!!" I say. "It appears to me she tried to commit suicide last night." He says. Oh my god. OH MY GOD! I can't find the words so I just start crying. "What-What do you mean "tried" is she- is she dead?" I scream. He gets up. "No she's not dead. But her parents wanted me to inform you that she was alright." He says. "Oh my god. I- i have to go." I say running out.
