As I crossed over the barrier to platform 9 3/4 i tried my hardest to contain my excitement. Remus kept looking around for Alynna, his girlfriend since the middle of second year. There had always been some nasty rumors about her, but he didn't care to listen to them because he absolutely hated school gossip. Once he spotted her he left his belongings with me and ran to her side. Knots formed inside my stomach and i felt somewhat... abandoned. Lost in my own thoughts i didn't even notice James come up to me until he was yelling in my ear.
"Earth to Marlee... Marlee!" He yelled snapping me out of my Remus induced daze. "Come on the train will leave soon."
We pushed our luggage to the loading zone and went to our compartment that Sirius had gotten for the Marauders.
While Remus was sitting with Alynna in a ravenclaw compartment i sat next to James and stared out the window.
"Mar... penny for your thoughts?" Peter asked hesitantly.
"Its just... why do i like the one person who is the most stupid, oblivious, smart person i know? Why can't he see that i.i.i..." I trailed off burying my head into James's shoulder letting silent tears roll down my cheeks. Peter and Sirius watched me cautiously as if i were going to have a mental break down, and James rubbed soothing circles in my back. Lily ran into the compartment knowing I was with her 'sworn enemy' James.
"Hey Mar! Lets go change. We'll be there soon. Oh my goodness. What's wrong?" Lily asked worried.
"Man problems" all the boys said in unison. Lily pulled me out of James's grasp and pulled me into the changing room.
"Don't worry we can always set you up with a nice muggle" she joked causing me to giggle. Once we changed i went to Lily's compartment with her. I instantly cheered up once i saw Alice and Eliza.
"Hey Mar" they chorused.
"Hey" i said quietly. I sat down next to Lily and we began talking about our summer until the train pulled to a slow stop. This is the beginning of an unforgettable year.
