Caught Cheating

A  month passed and Remus and i hadn't spoken a word to each other. I would help on full moons, but that was about it. I told myself the reason I wanted to do it was because Padfoot and Prongs were there, and because I wanted to beat up on him. I even gave my prefect duties up to Lily. Dumbledore wasn't too happy that I gave them up so easily but he understood why I did it. James on the other hand was absolutely pissed. He said that Lily would never let him get away with half of the things that Remus and I did. While Remus spent most of his time with Alynna, I spent my time either with Ashton, playing pranks with James, Sirius, Gideon, Fabian, and Peeves, or studying with Lily.

There was an Erie silence as I walked down the empty corridor with the marauders map in one hand, and my wand in the other. I was headed up to the astronomy tower to meet Ashton. It was after curfew but I really didn't care. It was the best time to look at the stars and think about random things. Sometimes I even found myself questioning my decision to avoid Remus, but then I shake it off saying that it was what's best for me. Sirius even gave me the map to avoid him. Anyways I was walking down the corridor staring down at the map when I noticed that Alynna was in the ROR corridor, but instead of Remus being with her like usual, she was with Andrew Flint. My mind told me to avoid them, but my legs drew me closer to the hallway... Closer. To the ROR... Closer to Alynna and Andrew. When I finally stopped I realized that the map was in my pocket. Hidden from everyone. 

"Why is it that I knew that this would happen?" I spat disgusted at what I was looking at.

"Mariah please help me. Please get him off of me. He... He attacked me while I was walking to my room.. And... And he dragged me here." Alynna 'cried'. 

"Save it Alynna. I know that isn't what happened." I scoffed clearly not falling for her act.

"Please don't tell him. Please."  She pleaded after a long silence. 

"Give me a reason I shouldn't. You know I lost my best friend because of you. So why shouldn't you lose your boyfriend?" I asked.

"Because... Because you know this would hurt him, and that's The last thing you would want to do." She replied. She did have a point, but I wasn't going to let her know that.

"why wouldn't I? It is a chance to prove I was right. Plus Remus and I aren't exactly on speaking terms because of you." I shot back. "And even if I don't tell him... What's stopping the ghosts and portraits from telling him. Peeves is pissed because you took his friend too. And gossip is the fat lady's favorite pass time." I continued. Then I remembered Ashton. "Damn I'm late." I said running off to the astronomy tower.
