( Greetings fellow readers. I hope you enjoy this edition of my fabulous book. Haha sorry for different intros. Anyway, read on!)
Annabeth's POV:
I was told that there was going to be a winter celebration at camp. I was a bit excited, yet I was also a bit worried. I haven't told Percy about my dad. I was too nervous, I didn't have the nerve to tell him. If I left unexpected, he would be devastated. If I told him, he would feel the same ways. I don't know what to do.
As I sat at my desk, I heard a knock on the cabin door. I got up and answered,"Oh hey Percy!" My boyfriend gleamed," Hey Wise Girl. Wanna go to the Winter celebration thing?" I replied," Do I have a choice? Oh but I wish my boyfriend would ask me respectfully and properly."
I giggled on the inside, and Percy looked dumfounded. Then he got down on a knee and said," Annabeth, would you like to go to the Winter Celebration?" I smiled,"Well I course I will!" I jumped into his arms, and left to the Winter Celebration announcement.
We arrived at the Ampitheater to see every year-round camper sitting in the aisles. I sat down on Percy's lap, and Chiron stomped his hoof,"Hello campers! As you might know, we are holding a winter party, if you will." The crowd started buzzing, but Chiron took authority," Mr. D is allowing snow at this camp, so that will be fun. There will be many activities, from making snowmen, snow ball fights, ice skating, and many more."
The crowd started bustling, and Chiron announced," And at the end of the day, we are holding a little surprise. There will be a Christmas Ball!" I heard screeches and yelps from the Aphrodite cabin. I could hear them yelling," OMG a dance!", "I need to get my hair ready!", "Wears my white dress!?" Percy looked at me,"Hey Annbeth, wanna go to the Christmas Ball?"
"I thought you'd never ask," I grinned. I quickly kissed him, and I jumped up to check my closet. I ran to my cabin and ran to my chest. I opened it up, and was glad to see it was still intact. I held up a short, white dress I bought for any special occasions. It was silky white. with a band wrapping aroung the waist. And in the center of it was a small, white rose.
A put it on the top of my bed, and headed out the door. When I stepped out, I got hit by a cold snowball. Even though it was freezing, my faced turned red out of frustration. I wiped it off, and Percy was standing in front of me laughing his lungs out. "What the heck Seaweed Brain?!" I screamed. I picked up a snowball and chucked it at him.
It hit him square in the chest, and he toppled over. As he laid there, I gazed at the camp. Everything was covered in a white blanket. It gave the camp a soft, wintery feeling. I liked it. Snow crunched under my shoes. Percy got up, and tackled me into a bear hug. We both toppled into the snow, and rolled around like crazy. We laughed and giggled.
He was soon on top of me; I was pinned down. "Gotcha Wise Girl," he bragged. I lifted my leg, and in a swift movement, I was pinning Percy. "Don't get too cocky." Percy gave me his signature crooked smile, and kissed me on the cheek. "Let's go," Percy suggested. We got up, and Percy took my hand. I laced my fingers into his, and checked out the activites.
As we walked around, I thought it was a winter wonderland. The Canoe Lake froze and was an Ice Rink. The volleyball courts were turned into Snowball Fight stadiums. The forest was dotted with snowmen. The climbing wall spewed snow intead of lava. And the Arena was preparing for the Christmas Ball. It was amazing.
We went to the Canoe Lake, and were given ice skates. I put them on, and rode on the ice. But as soon as I went on, I fell on my butt. Percy grabbed my hand,"Need help?" I nodded, and stood up. He held my hand, and we skated off. I was a bit wobbly, nearly tripping every couple of seconds. Percy was a natural at ice skating. I didn't know ice skating was a Poseidon power.
"Why are you so much better than me?" I questioned. Percy shrugged," I don't know really. I guess the water keeps my balance." I added sarcasm," Well that explains a lot." He giggled a bit, and we rode on the ice a bit more. After a few minutes, I tumbled along with Percy. Percy was on top of me, and he was gazing into my eyes. He was about to kiss me when I heard a voice," Jeez you love birds! Get a room!"
I stood up to see Clarisse and Chris. "Hey Clarisse, having fun?" She was about to send me a death threat when Chris interrupted," We're having a great time, right Clarisse?" Clarisse loosened up, and nodded in agreement. "So are you guys going to the dance?" she asked. Percy and I nodded simultaneously.
"Alright then, I guess Annabeth and I should be going," Percy said. He took my hand, and we left. "Bye guys!" Chris said. Clarisse waved, and they went back to skating. Next we went to making snowmen. I made one that looked like Frosty the Snowman.It had a top hat, buttons, everything. When I looked at Percy's, it basically looked like a white lump. "Um, Percy, what is that?" I asked.
He sighed," It's a snowman! Isn't it obvious?" I laughed," It looks like a big lump!" Percy threw some snow at me, and we joked around a bit. I came over," Here, let me help you with that." I explained to him to make a strong foundation, to make sure the body is connected, that kind of stuff. I bet he dozed off after the first 2 minutes.
After rebuilding his snow pile, it was an okay snowman. His face was a bit lopsided, but it was still alright. "His name will be Billy!" Percy joked. I added," Billy the snowman is a pretty awesome name." Percy nodded, and went over to mine. Just then, he jumped on my snow creation! "PERCY!! WHAT THE HECK?!?!" I screeched.
Percy was cracking up, and he couldn't breathe. Even though he had the Curse of Achilles, I punched him as hard as I could. "You're going have to rebuild Sherman!" I ordered. Percy laughed even more," You named him Sherman!?! HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!!!!!" I punched him again, and he settled down. "Sorry Annabeth, it was just too funny," Percy heaved.
I sat Percy up, and headed around camp. Then we headed to the volleyball courts. It was pandemonium. The Ares cabin built an entire snow fortress. They even had snow cannons! We headed to the other side of the courts to the other base. I heard Connor," Alright so I have a giant cup of lemonade. We'll pour it on the snow and throw is at the Ares kids. Then we'll say it's pee- Annabeth! Percy! We need help, or we're screwed!"
We sat down," What do you guys need help with?" Travis came in," Destroying the Ares cabin. They have the cannons, we have the Aphrodite cabin." He pointed to the girls covered in snow and make-up. I heard Drew," Travis! You said that if we win you'd tell us who's the most beautiful! I want you to win!!"
Percy came in," Well maybe I could help. Since snow is made up of water, I could control it. I could control and launch the snow at them, and we'd win." Connor and Travis agreed and grabbed the snow. I looked at Percy, who seemed concentrated on the snow. Then I saw piles of snow launch into the air. They hit the campers directly in the face. On a scale of 1-10, I would give it an 11 for awesomeness and pure hotness. I said that, he was awesome.
Percy, Travis, and Connor, headed down the court. Percy made a snow shield. Connor and Travis launched snow balls at their opponents. Connor and Travis launched snow like no tomorrow. Percy took out campers from behind. It was awesome. The battle seemed like only a few seconds, but they won. When they got back, I saw all of the Ares kids knocked out and covered in snow.
Everyone was celebrating their victory when Drew interrupted," Alright guys, who's the hottest in the Aphrodite cabin?" Connor and Travis both looked at each other, and threw snow balls at the Aphrodite girls. "I'M GOING TO KILL YOU!!!" Drew screamed. Everyone sprinted to the two Hermes brothers.
Right when Percy and I were about to leave, we heard an announcement.," EVERYONE! THE CHRISTMAS BALL WILL BE DONE VERY SOON! DO GET DRESSED AND GET READY TO DANCE!!" I couldn't believe it. It was almost time. I hugged Percy and told him to meet me at my cabin in 15 minutes. I jogged to my cabin and got ready for the dance.
