I spent three hours searching for food frantically in these stupid woods. I hadn't eaten for over twenty hours now. Losing all hope, I sighed and sat back down under the tree where I slept usually.
Since I was a kid, I had the habit of crying when I had to face a difficult situation. The tears would just come naturally. I was starving and it was still very bright outside- I had the whole fucking day ahead of me.
Maybe the mysterious stranger can help me?
No! I was too stubborn to ask him for anything. I don't even know who the hell he is. How can he hear me? See me? And even read my mind?!
I was playing with the hem of my dress when my stomach cried loudly for the umpteenth time.
I'm not chewing on bark.
I'm not chewing on bark.
I'm not chewing on bark.
I sighed in frustration. Maybe there is a nearby drug store somewhere here?
Nope. I'm in the middle of nowhere, remember?
"I need you, I need you so bad." I mumbled under my breath and closed my eyes... hoping he knew it was for him.
I felt something drop on my lap. I snapped my eyes open in horror. What if a bird died and landed on my lap? I looked down to my lap immediately and I couldn't breath.
Berries.
Dozens and dozens of berries.
Cranberries, strawberries, black berries, blue berries, rasberries and loveberries.
The blush crept up to my cheeks as I stared at the delicious berries in pure awe. With shaking hands, a grabbed a love berry and popped it in my mouth.
It tasted perfect.
Before I knew it I was stuffing the delicious berries into my mouth carelessly. By the time they finished, my stomach was truly satisfied.
Wait. Did he see me stuffing all those berries into my mouth like a pig?
Just the thought made me blush. I should say
thank you...right?
"So when are you planning on saying thank you?"
The deep voice challenged me. The butterflies erupted in my stomach.
Of course he read my mind.
"Why are you helping me?" I asked, avoiding to say thank you.
There was a long pause. Was he thinking about what to say?
"Thats none of your business. You know you can always just say thank you instead?"
"What do you mean its none of my business? You're helping me for no reason why. You don't even know me and you help me when I'm cold, hungry or even upset! Why are you doing this?! I deserve to know!" I huffed stubbornly.
"Maybe because I don't like to see you cry"
He replied.
His answer made me blush. Did he just indirectly say that he cared about me?
"Why do you care about me? You don't even know me!" I yelled stubbornly.
"Who said I don't know you? I know everything about you. I know that you're adopted. I know that you broke up with your boyfriend and the reason as well. I know that you hate fish. I know that you're allergic to peanuts. I know that your favorite color is green. I know that you're not typically mean how people have tagged you to be. I know that you're much weaker and sensitive than you display yourself to be and I also know that you are very scared of me right now."
