This chapter is dedicated to ElectroFire87. Pardon any plot holes, I just felt like pulling an Araki on this one.

Sal, the famous woman jockey, had an impeccable record. She never lost a race, always came in first, and did her family proud. For unknown reasons, she retired as soon as the Steel Ball Run was announced. She did, however, leave a parting gift to a randomly selected fan. Her steed, Jackson.
You were a nobody before receiving the stallion. Never in your life did you think the name, _____, would be printed out in newspapers across the nation, but that wasn't why you were overjoyed. You were excited, for you finally had the means to escape your family.
Only a few rounds into the race, you were then seen for your skill as a rider, instead of the prestige of riding Sal's horse. It didn't take long for people to start rumors of Sal training you, herself. Diego took it upon himself to find the truth.
You were eating dinner in a tavern, alone. You only glanced at Diego for a moment as he took a seat at your table. You never liked starting conversations and it became clear to you that he disliked it as well. Lucky for you, patience was your virtue.
"You don't talk much, do you?" He finally asked, annoyed by your lack of acknowledgment.
"I can't imagine you'd be interested in anything I have to say." You replied.
"You have plenty to say." He corrected.
"Alright." You put your fork down to give him your full attention. "Like what?"
"How are you able to get on Sal's horse?"
"Well, you see, I have legs and I use them to mount Jackson." You explained before getting up from the table. "I'm tuckered out. Goodnight."
You left Diego to ponder alone. No one, other than Sal, could ride Jackson. How could you do it? Is it possible that you had the ability to read horses as well? If so, you could prove to be a bigger threat than he had anticipated.
The next morning, you beat the sunrise and rode off while the sky was still purple. This was your tactic to victory, and apparently, you weren't the only one who favored it. Diego soon took off. Silver Bullet fell in pace with Jackson in no time.
"I bet Sal retired because she can't stand the idea of losing to me." He taunted.
"You're welcome to pass me, if you think you're that great." You challenged with a smirk.
It was a challenge he ignored. He'd never risk over exerting Silver Bullet just to cut ahead of someone, especially this early in the round. Then he came to realize that you thought the same way with Jackson and several other things, which ultimately led to your traveling together.
You both liked to think it was all just a series of coincidences. Did it bother either of you? Not at all. As long as you did nothing to impede each other from winning the race, everything was fine.

You were returning to your shared campsite after a bath in a nearby stream. You didn't mean to catch Diego off guard in his Scary Monsters state. Before you knew it, you were pinned to a tree by your shoulders.
"You won't tell anyone about this." He seethed, eyes darting all over your face, looking for any reaction.
That was when you finally noticed the word 'TURBO' in his left eye, and 'DIO' on his cheek bone. You placed your hands over his arms and slowly pried them off.
