PLEASE DONT EAT ME FOR BEING EVIL!!! I'M SORRY!!!
I stared down in the crib, feeling Hunter’s arms around my now small waist. Our baby lay there with his eyes closed, sleeping soundly. His blue hospital cap was falling off his head because he was so small, and none of the clothing we had fit him either. Even the smallest diaper’s we could find were still too big, but the doctor assured us he was perfectly healthy, just tiny.
I feel Hunter press his lips against my cheek as he gives me a soft kiss. “You did so well.” He whispers, tightening his arms around me.
My hands rest on his muscular arms, and I grin, not being able to take my eyes away from the baby for even a second. “I love you,” I whisper to him.
“I love you more.”
I jerk awake to the sound of my phone blaring on the bedside table. My eyes open ever so slowly, and I stare at the ceiling for a moment. Hunter groans from my right, making me remember that I was disturbing him on his day off, before tour started. I quickly snatch the phone in my hands and press the answer button, holding the cold surface of it against my ear.
“Speak,” I yawn tiredly, but quietly.
“Siana, get to the hospital, now.” Aden spits out quickly.
I pull myself away from Hunter’s comforting arms by sitting straight up in bed. “Why?”
He sighs through the phone. “I don’t want to scare you, Siana, but there’s something wrong with Caroline.” He deadpans. “Everyone is on their way from Breaux; so far only Trevor, El and I are here.”
I feel the tears beginning to burn as I nod my head, even though he couldn’t see me. “We’ll be right there.” I say calmly, hanging up the phone.
I drop the phone on the bed, and turn to Hunter. He lay there, still sleeping soundly. I bring my hand up to him and brush his hair away from his eyes, tears beginning to fall from my own.
“Hunter, get up.” I whisper gently.
He peels his eyes open slowly, smiling at me for a moment. When he realizes that I’m crying his eyebrows knit together in confusion.
“Baby, what’s wrong?” He asks me, bringing a hand up to wipe away tears.
“It’s Caroline, Aden called, there’s something wrong.” I whimper.
In one swift movement, he swings his legs out of bed and is already at the dresser, pulling his PJ shirt over his head. Searching for something else to wear, he quickly looks over at me, realizing I’m about to fall apart.
“She’s going to be ok, Z.” He tries assuring me.
