"Dan... How- how'd you find me?" I breath out, not daring to take my eyes away from his.
He crosses his arms over his chest, making a clicking sound with his tongue. "Tsk, tsk little Anna. Now, if you didn't want to be found, first of all, you shouldn't have married a country super star. Second, you shouldn't be on tour with him." His voice sounded as if he were amused. Like he had planned this a while ago, just waiting for the perfect moment.
"Why do you even care anymore? I've literally done nothing to you." I whisper to him, wanting nothing more then to look away from those eyes that had darkness dancing in them almost constantly. I had always wondered what sent him over the edge, what made him so evil. He was never like this in high school. Mean, sure, but never evil.
He chuckled after a moment, shaking his head at me. "You put me in jail for nine months, Anna. You need to pay, and so far, you haven't payed enough." He growled, pushing over a chair that was in his way to get to me.
"Please don't hurt me." I began to tear up, and my voice got shaky. "Don't hurt my baby." I whisper as I cowered from his awful stare, pressing my hands to my belly.
He stops two feet in front of me, and I could practically feel his intense stare. More then likely, he was looking at my baby bump.
"Got all jazzy with your best friend, didn't you?" He asks me in a gruff tone.
I feel my entire face go beet red as I glance up at him, no longer seeing a smirk. Instead, he looked outraged. "Get a life." I hissed, surprised by my sudden spike of confidence.
He starts to laugh, then turns around to walk away, acting slightly delusional. "Wow, you really have gotten some confidence." He starts laughing even harder, then stops abruptly. "I don't like it."
Before he had a chance to turn around, I found that luck was in my favor. A pencil laid on the ground near my feet, and though it was just a pencil, it was still sharp. I bend down and grab it in my hands, hiding it behind my back.
"Confidence doesn't suit you, dear." He began to pace back and forth, being sure to block me of any escape.
"Now, the last time I saw you, you were only dating Hunter. You seemed happy then, I can just only hope that I screwed that up somehow. When I left Nashville, I went back to New York to be with my dad. Then I saw somewhere, that pretty boy was all happily married." He began to explain some weird story that I had no need listen to, but I still listened, in hopes that maybe I could convince him that violence isn't the answer to anything.
"I never had a happy childhood, a happy life, a happy relationship. Ever. So seeing you being happy with someone you loved, that just sent me over the edge. I couldn't have that. You can't have that if I can't." He turned towards me, and started walking closer.
"You see, Anna. Not everything ends happily. This won't end happily." A disgusting smirk pulls at the corners of his mouth, and he walks closer. I feel my confidence practically blow away in the wind as my heart was practically beating out of my chest in fear.
"Dan, you're delusional, and you don't deserve happiness." I mutter what I thought would be my last words, and he stops in his tracks. His expression went from being possibly entertained with my fear, to hurt. He actually looked hurt.
"As long as you're not happy, I don't care." He whispers, reaching his hands up to wrap them around my throat.
Before I let his dirty little hands ever touch me again, I attempted to bring the pencil down into his arm, but his reflexes were faster then mine. He grabs onto my wrist with a death grip, smirking at me as my eyes became glossy with tears.
