Considering the circumstances

Waking up, I hear Hunter's alarm blaring from his bedside table, then I heard him groan as he reaches for it. I open my eyes and wince as the light from his iPhone blinded me. Eventually, after struggling for a few moments from being disoriented, he turns off the alarm and wraps his arms around me again. "Shh, just sleep baby." He whispers, letting me nuzzle my face into his chest.

"You have to go to the studio, don't you?" I asked him tiredly, eyes closed.

I hear him sigh in defeat as he rubs my back. "Sadly, yes. Dann said that we have to discuss something immediately." He replies.

I sit up and pull myself out of his embrace in the process, rubbing my eyes. "Well, let's go." I yawned, stretching my arms.

"No, it's ok, I will just go. You stay home, get some rest or something. You look tired." He was now sitting up next to me, and even though it was dark, I could see his smile. His smile could literally light up a room.

I shook my head as I peeled the covers away from me. "I want to come, I don't want to be here alone." I say to him, trying my best to sound convincing.

He sighs. "Fine, but are you sure?" he asks, raising an eyebrow at me.

I nod my head. "I'm sure." I smiled at him.

He took a shower as I got changed into some jeans, a white tank top and a dark green cardigan, which would soon not fit me and my belly anymore. I decided to just not button it. I then quickly brushed my teeth before he had to get out, and brushed my hair, pulling it up into a high pony tail. I leave the room and decide to make Hunter his coffee since he probably wouldn't have the time to make it when he got out of the shower.

As I search the cabinets for his mug, I got frustrated when I couldn't find it. "It's gotta be somewhere." I mutter, standing on my tip toes.

Then I remembered that I had broke it.

My eyes shot down to look at my hand, and I see the scar that was there when I gripped the broken ceramic to tight.

I look down at the floor and see the gash in the wood that was there when the mug had made contact with it.

I didn't know what to do, but I felt tears brimming in my eyes as I remembered how lost I felt without Hunter. I didn't know at the time what to do without him, or how I was supposed to tell him about the baby, or how to handle my emotions correctly.

I was a mess.

I find myself sitting on the floor while tracing the small gash in the wood with my finger, a few tears slowly falling and making their way from my eyes.

I still couldn't believe I had broken his favorite mug.

I see Hunter's feet travel into the room and see him wearing his usual blue skinny jeans, and a dark green and blue plaid shirt.

He looked good in plaid, I wished he would wear it more often.

"Hey Z, is that coffee I smell- Why are you sitting on the floor? Are you going into labor?!" He stared at me with panicked eyes, and I began to laugh at him.

"You idiot." I died of laughter, attempting to stand up from the floor. He rushes to help me, and I allow it. "I was just, uh, having a flashback. Yeah." I nod my head awkwardly, and grab him a random mug from the cabinet.

It was a black mug with a picture of a snow man on it, and I remembered that I had gotten that for Christmas last year from Caroline.

He began to stare at it, then look at me with confusion written on his soft features. "Where's our mug? I haven't seen it in a couple days." he pouts slightly, looking in the cabinet.
