Proved wrong again

Hunter’s P.O.V.

The smell the filled my senses that morning were glorious. I wasn’t exactly sure what it was, but it was delightful. I smiled while reaching my hand over to touch Siana, but frown when I can’t feel her. I open my eyes, automatically feeling stupid for not knowing she would be in the kitchen, since there would be no one else who could be the one cooking.

Way to go, Hunter.

“Siana?” I call out, rubbing my eyes as I enter the kitchen.

“Hey handsome.” She says in her amazing morning voice, only making me smile even more.

As she cooked food at the stove, I see her wearing her usual pajamas. Shorts that revealed her long, lightly tanned legs, and a shirt of mine that she had stolen, that almost covered the shorts she wore and her baby bump.

“Good morning beautiful.” I whisper, slowly walking up behind her. Like always, my arms wrap around her and rest on her belly. On our angel.

I press a soft kiss to where her shoulder meets her neck, and she sighs softly as I imagine her smiling. “Did you sleep well?” She asks.

I think about last night, feeling the sadness that I felt when she admitted to wanting to get rid of our child at first, and then shutter mentally. “Pretty well.” I fibbed slightly, watching the sizzling bacon that was on the stove. “What about you?”

"Same.” She says, removing the food from the sizzling hot pan. She moves to grab a plate, so I remove my arms from around her, stretching as I watch her wander around the kitchen.

Eventually, she insists that I sit down and eat the food that she had prepared for us both, and I do so. I didn’t know she could cook so well till I took a bite of the omelet she had made me, along with the bacon and hand squeezed orange juice.

"What would the special occasion be?” I asked, making sure that I consumed every morsel on my plate.

She smiles, finishing her food. “First day home, I figured I could try my hand at cooking. Don’t you think?” She asks, leaning back in her seat.

I nod my head. “True. But I wasn’t aware that you could cook so well.” I say, also leaning back in my seat.

“I figured it would be surprising.” She smirks, looking down at her lap.

“Just when I think I know every think about you, I get proved wrong again.” I say, purposely making her blush. She had this adorable expression on her face when she blushes, and it always lit me up.

When we finish breakfast, we both decided that lying around on the sofa was a nice idea. We both felt lazy, since we’d previously been on tour and so much had happened in such a small amount of time. That of course made Dan cross my mind, and when I look down at Siana who had her head laid on my lap, sleeping, I see the bruise that had finally gone away, but I could still see where it had previously been. I shuttered, just thinking about him laying hands on her for yet another time. It killed me to know I didn’t protect her. It wasn’t the first time I had failed.

As Courage the Cowardly Dog plays softly on the flat screen, Siana still laid asleep with her head on my lap. I glance to my left, at her baby bump, and press a hand to our angel.

“Not too much longer now, Angel.” I whisper, and then look back as Siana. Her innocent looking features made me smile as I just sat there, being completely entertained by admiring her beauty. She looked so young still, even being pregnant. She looked seventeen, if not younger, and it was almost scary. No wonder people questioned whether she was a teenage girl who was alone and pregnant.

She stirs quickly as her piercing blue eyes shoot open. “Where am I?” She asks, sounding almost startled.

I put a hand on her shoulder softly, stroking it with my thumb. “Lying on the sofa.” I say, knowing she was disoriented from sleep.

She looks around, and then looks up at me, smiling. “Oh.” She mumbles, going to sit up.

As she sits next to me, her head rests against my shoulder and we stare at the TV in silence, but only for a moment.

“Babe, I miss Charlie.” She whispers, reaching for my hand randomly. She intertwines our fingers together while using her other hand to twirl my wedding band around my ring finger, being silent. “Can we go to Jack’s and get her?” She asks, looking up at me.

“Of course we can.” I smiled, pressing a kiss to her forehead.

Siana’s P.O.V.

Country music was being played in the car softly as we drove down a highway. We passed houses, beautiful ones at that. Hunter kept looking at them all as we passed them, and I gave him a weird look.

“Are you ok?” I ask him, gently tugging on his hand.

He turns his head to look at me, just before looking back at the road. “Perfect.” He mutters.

I knew that was more than likely a lie. “Talk to me.” I insist, turning to my left to get a better look at him.

He nods his head. “Well, I’ve been thinking. We don’t have much longer till the baby’s here, Z.” He explains, looking over at my baby bump, then back to the road. “I don’t want us to have to be living in an apartment when she does come. I want us to have a real house. A place we can call home and a place that the baby will be able to safely grow up in, because I’m pretty sure Mrs. Lakelyn is an alcoholic.” He says to me, turning down a road.

"So, what are you saying Hunter?” I asked, being somewhat confused.

“I want us to go looking for a house.” He says, smiling over at me.

A house, as in something much larger than an apartment. As in a place to call ours, a place that our child can grow up peacefully in.

I grip his hand a bit tighter, looking over at he who kept switching his attention from the road to me. “Is this what you feel is right?” I asked him.

“It is.” He confirms immediately.

"Then this is what we’ll do.” I say, trusting his idea.

It wasn’t like he didn’t have the money to provide a home for us and our child, but I would admit to myself that I was a bit nervous. I’ve been living in that apartment building with Hunter since before we were married. Heck. Even before we were engaged. It was home to me, and it was going to take some getting used to if we moved out.

"I promise this will work.” He says to me, pulling into Jack’s driveway. He unbuckles himself and turns to look at me, grabbing both my small hands in his. “I promise.”

I smile, looking down at our hands. “I know it will. It always works out in the end.”

When I look up at him, he immediately presses a kiss to my lips, waiting a few long seconds before pulling away to look into my eyes, smiling. “You’ve got it.” He pushes my stray hair behind my ear, letting his hand rest against my face. “I love you.”

“I love you, too.”

A/N: This update was not really planned, but I guess since the last one was somewhat sad, I would attempt for a cute one. XD Sorry it was short.
