Haley's POV

I stumbled over everything as I was lead through the crowds of cheering people. "Your so clumsy." Tom laughed, keeping a firm grip on me. Judging by the noise, there had to be at least a thousand people watching, but I either did my plan or be tortured for the rest of my life, but my plan would probably not work. I stopped walking and stood as still as I could. "Come on, do you wanna get murdered!" Tom yelled pulling my arm. I quickly leapt into the air and morphed into my wolf. I growled at anyone who approached and turned to make a run. I tried to find Joey or Brooke's scent through all the crowds and I suddenly spotted Joey being walked away by two prefects. I ran at full speed towards him, but I suddenly felt a net being thrown over me. I stared up at the vampires pinning me down, through the net, I thought it was fear I was feeling, but this was just pure anger. I wrestled against the vampires, trying to get free, when Tom's smug grin appeared. "Haley, this is not the time to have a teenage girl melt down." He laughed. I realised what they were doing, trying to get me annoyed so I automatically change back. I snarled at him. "Just change back," he groaned, "you do realise we can stay like this all day, until you change back." I groaned, realising I'd been defeated. I turned back to a human, when I felt something sharp pierce into my arm, and realised what it was, fangs. I screamed in pain, as one vampire bit me, but I watched as a Virtūte vampire ripped the novice vampire to pieces. "Sorry about that," Tom apologised, wrapping my arm with a bandage.

"I suppose I'll have to put up with being a blood pet for the rest of my life, so I might as well start getting use to it." I groaned, as my arm fell limp.

"Where did you get the idea that you'll be used as a blood pet?" Tom asked,

"My family." Is all I answered.

"Oh, but seeing as your the last of your kind, you won't be used as a blood pet, unless the king changes his mind." Tom answered, gently pulling me to my feet, with my good arm. "Just stop the random melt downs." Tom laughed.

"Not making any promises," I said bluntly. Tom placed a sack over my head again before whispering,

Tom stopped, before saying, "how's your arm now?"

"It's gone completely numb, I can barely feel it." I groaned.

"Yep, It's gone limp." Tom said, picking it up and dropping it. "You need to see a doctor before the venom passes to the rest of your body." He said, before talking to one of the Virtūte's. A moment later I was sat down inside a small room, as I felt someone remove the sack from my head. I was opposite a doctor who gave me a load of injections, then wrapped my arm in a bandage. He then gave me a sling,

"It will probably take at least a week before your arm starts working properly. Novice vampire's venom is deadly." The doctor explained. I searched for Tom, when I heard him in the next door room.

"You can't do that to her!" Tom yelled to someone

"I can do what I want!" An even louder voice bellowed, "since when did you feel pity! I need an heir that will be bad, not one that's turned soft!" He said harshly

"I haven't turned soft!" Tom objected

"Well, next time I catch my nephew going soft, the future throne will go to Archie instead!" The voice yelled.

"Why can't I fall in love and be an heir?" Tom protested

"Because I can't make all those humans believe that the vampires have gone soft, so start being tougher or Archie gets the throne instead. Understood?" The voice yelled

"Yes sir." Tom said, obviously angry. A few minutes later, Tom stormed back into the room. "Get up, we're leaving." He growled, yanking me to my feet.
