Chapter. 19

His words ran through my head, 'don't go near the corner café', 'I don't want you to worry.' Who were these people he was meeting with?

"Hey! Haley is it?" A girl from behind said.

"Yeah, how'd you know that?" I asked shocked.

"You survived the blood games! I also used to be in your geography class." She smiled, "I'm Claudia."

"Wait, your Claudia Hall." I said. Claudia was one girl at school that I didn't hate, I only envied. She was flawless, with pretty fair skin and platinum blonde hair. Every part of her was flawless, she was stunning, how did I not recognise her!

"Yeah, I always wanted to say hi to you at school, but the cheerleaders said I had to avoid you and Abi." Claudia sighed. A pain went through my heart at the mention of Abi. "Who are you here with today? Abi?" She asked

"No, ummn." I started, "Abi was killed." I said reluctantly. "I'm here on my own, my boyfriend just dropped me off."

"Oh my god! I'm so sorry about Abi, I had no clue!" She apologised, "Hey! Why don't we go shopping together!" She said. "I'm here on my own too,"

"That would be great!" I grinned.

After a long morning of shopping, I'd brought a new wardrobe with Claudia, my new best friend.

"I'm meeting some friends at the corner café, wanna come?" She asked.

"Ummn, I can't, I-" I started,

"Come on! Am I that boring!" She said, slightly offended.

"Fine, I'll come." I said reluctantly.

My fingers were literally shaking with anxiety. Tom's gunna hate me when he finds out that I disobeyed him, and what should I expect when I arrive! Claudia pushed the door open and shaking, I followed her in. The second I stepped in the room, a face I never wanted to see again stared at me. Archie. He stood up instantly, but so did Tom.

"Well, well, if it isn't little miss rebel." Archie said, walking over. I raised my eyebrows at the strange nickname, but he didn't notice.

"Haley! What are you doing here!" Tom yelled

"I didn't think he would be here!" I yelled back

"Hey Tom, I bet the king will be happy to find out that his heir has been secretly dating the most wanted person by the vampires." Archie smirked. I had to do this, I hesitated first, then said.

"We're not dating. We're not boyfriend and girlfriend. He just gave me advice to stay away from places like this." I lied. Tom shot me a thankful look, before turning to Archie.

"Yeah, so what exactly is there to tell the king?" Tom almost growled at Archie.

"I can tell him that I found Haley, and I'll take her back with me." Archie sneered. I watched Tom's hand secretly signal the door.

"What if I want to take her back with me," Tom said, shoving Archie into the wall. Archie swung his fist around, just missing Tom's face. I realised what Tom was doing, he was stalling so I could get away. Whilst the two fought, Claudia silently opened the door and I crept out of it, before sprinting down the alley way. I knew in a matter of seconds, Archie would be tracking my scent. The alley became narrower and narrower by the second, until I reached a dead end. I turned around to see Archie with a group of vampires backing him up, I gulped slightly, do I change into my wolf form and risk someone seeing me, or do I just hope they magically die. I backed up until I felt the cold cement wall pressed against my back, Archie just approached closer.
