Chapter. 20
Haley's POV
I awoke abruptly, where was I? Then I recognised this room, it was the room I was locked up in during the blood games when they found out I was a werewolf. I stood up from the bed, when Archie barged in and grabbed me by the hair, and shoved me hard into the wall.
"Hands behind your back, mutt." He said, grabbing one of my arms and twisting it behind my back. He pulled my other hand away from my stomach and held it next to the other one. I heard the click of the hand cuffs holding my hands together, before being pulled away.
"Was that bloody necessary!" I blurted out. Archie kicked me hard in the back of my leg, giving me a dead leg, before picking me up again by the hair.
"No it's not necessary, just amusing." He grinned.
"Where are you even taking me?" I groaned.
"To be questioned." He said. A set of doors opened by two vampires and I was lead into a small white room. Archie pushed me into a chair, whilst a large figure entered the room. Everyone bowed before him, so I knew it was the king. He sat in front of me,
"It's been a long time since I last saw you, Haley. Speaking of which, we would like to know how you managed to destroy the arena, and instead of hurting you for the answers, we decided it would be funner to hurt him for the answer." He laughed. Two vampires walked in, holding Tom tightly.
"What! No!" I said standing up, only to be pushed down again.
"We thought it would be funner to use your love for him against you." The king said. I looked across at Tom who kept his head down.

I refused to look up, I didn't want to see her, not when she's vulnerable like this. The king had said I could still be his heir, but this was the punishment for not telling him where she was. I glanced up, catching her eye. Her small little frame looking tiny with Archie towering over her. Her hair had fallen into little curls, framing her face, I felt so guilty being apart of this.
"How did you destroy the arena?" The king demanded.
"I dunno!" She panicked, "it just happened!" She whimpered. I felt a slap across my back as a cane hit me. I groaned in pain, trying to hold it in as she screamed.
"It couldn't have just happened! Our arena is one of the greatest inventions of the time, how did you destroy it." The king demanded.
"That black thing you put on my ankle. I ripped it off so that I could go closer to the boundary, then I realised it was impossible to get through the arena so I threw the black thing at it in anger, and the electricity must have reacted!" She yelled back.
"A typical wolf, they can't control their anger and this is what happens." The king laughed. I smiled slightly, it is the sort of thing Haley would do.
"who rescued you?" The king demanded.
"I dunno, I was unconscious by that point." She snorted, just as they were about to hit me she quickly interrupted, "but when I woke up, I was with..." She started.
"With who?" The king said impatiently. They hit me across the back again, I winced, determined not to let Haley see I was in pain. She must have seen it hurt because she quickly blurted out,
"I was with my brother!" She panicked.
"Is your brother also a werewolf?" The king asked.
"I think you should be able to answer that one for yourself." She said bluntly. They hit me again, "yes he is a werewolf!" She quickly said.
