VERONICA'S POV:

"What are you doing?" I asked at the 21 year old, who was searching through his drawer for who knows what.

We were at his place and he had a call saying that Scooter wanted the song that he had wrote.

"Looking." He mumbled, running a hand through his hair, making it messy.

"Why does he want the song?" I questioned.

"He was going to sell the song to Bruno Mars but I get most of the money."

"Agh! I can't find it!" He gave up and sat on the bed.

"We should go out-"

"Veronica, not now. I need to find-"

"Shut up and listen." I hissed. He laid back on his bed and covered his face with his hands.

"Like I was saying, we should go out so maybe you could remember what inspired you. Then you might remember how it went." I sighed.

"That's not a bad idea." He moved his fingers so he can see me. I rolled my eyes before patting his stomach for him to get up.

"Let's go."

"Now?"

"Yeh, you lazy bum!" I joked while grabbing my car keys. Nathan followed behind me as we went out the door. It was pretty cool for summer but it's fine.

"So what inspired you about the song?" I asked, my hands on the steering wheel moved from sides to the top.

"You." I felt his burning gaze on my causing my cheeks to flush.

"And Ariana." My cheeks lost their color as they matched the color of my knuckles. Cold, pale, white.

"Yeah but I wrote it when we were still going out. While you were in New York, I missed you. A lot. It was unbelievable." I ran his hand through his hair while he had a smile on his face.

Fuck he looked cute.

"But I grew feelings for her too... even though my feelings towards you were stronger, I had feelings for her as well. I think it was all in my head since we had to be together." He explained. I nodded understanding, but if I had to be honest, I felt a pang of jealousy in my chest.

"I understand." I flashed him a smile. I don't know whether I needed the smile or him.

NATHAN'S POV:

Veronica drove us to Starbucks to get tea. No questions asked. Literally, I don't know why but it's tea so I'm not complaining. We then headed towards a park. Or the park.

Hmmm...

"I think this should remind you of something!" She smiled but more for herself. Most likely because she think she did a good job. She did.

"Let's go to the swings!" Her hand grabbed mine as she pulled me towards the swings. I sat on the piece of rubber or plastic, wrapping my hands around the cold metal.

"I bet I can get higher than you!" She teased.

"Funny you think that, love!" I started to swing but she stayed put.

"I never said start!"

"You never said any rules either!" I teased, sticking my tongue out at her.

"It's on, Sykes!" After a minute she caught up to me.

"Look!" Her head snapped towards me as I got ready. Once my swing was to the lowest, I'll grab my cup. That'll be pretty cool. Maybe even impressive.
