"HOW HAVE YOUR LESSONS BEEN?" Raya asked Arya as they walked through the castle gardens. They were nothing compared to High Garden's, but they were still beautiful. Beside her the younger girl shrugged.

"They've been okay," Arya said, her voice sounding distant. Raya stopped walking and narrowed her eyes at the girl. Arya stopped walking and turned to face Raya. "What's wrong?"

"The question is what's wrong with you. You're always excited to tell me what you learned from Syriro. Has something happened?" Raya knew what was troubling her, probably involved her father.

Arya didn't respond, she instead kicked a rock on their path. Arya may be young, but even she could sense the tensions between their houses. She decided not to press the girl. They continued their walk in complete silence.

"Arya, I want you to know that no matter what happens, I will do my best to help you and your family," Raya told the young girl beside her. Arya scoffed in reply.

"Why should I trust you? You're a Lannister! You probably want my father dead like everyone else!" Raya glanced around to make sure no one had heard the younger girl. No one seemed to be paying attention to them, so Raya pulled the girl to the side.

Arya's eyes narrowed at her, but Raya just looked at the girl with soft eyes. "Arya," Raya said gently, "I want to help you."

"You can't help me, or my father."

Raya smiled softly at the other girl, "I can try."

Arya just stared at Raya. The look on her face was skeptical.

"Raya!" Raya turned to see Sansa happily walking toward her. There was something in the girl's step that made Raya curious. Her mood was the exact opposite of her sister. Was Sansa oblivious of the tension between their two houses?

"Sansa, you seem rather happy," Raya noticed.

Sansa nodded, "Oh Raya you won't believe, Joffrey kissed me and gave me this," Sansa showed her the necklace that was on her neck. It was like the one she and her mother wore, with the Lannister sigil on it. Raya bit down on her back teeth.

"Seven hells," Arya muttered from beside her. Raya agreed. Joffrey was playing the role her mother wanted. He would manipulate her loyalty and then her family would have secured the North.

"Shut up Arya," Sansa muttered. Raya chuckled at the sister's interaction. Sansa playfully glared at the Baratheon girl. Raya's gaze drifted to a lady sneaking glances at them. He knew that it had to be one of her mother's ladies, spying on her and her interactions with the Starks.

"Well I must leave you two. Please try not to kill each other," Raya pleaded. She took her leave and headed back toward the castle. She wanted to say her goodbyes to her father and uncle. They were going on a hunting trip and she didn't know how long it would be until they would return.
