A while ago, I friend-zoned Y/N. I thought she wasn't right for me and that I wanted Veronica. But every time I see Y/N smile, it makes me happy and when I see her cry, it makes me hurt. I want her.
Third Person POV
Y/N had always been Archie's lucky charm during football season. But it broke her to watch his fleeting romances with Ms. Grundy, Veronica Lodge and Valerie.
"Archie! Hey, over here!" Y/N yells, watching as Archie jogs over to her. "I just wanted to introduce you to my new boyfriend, Dylan. Dylan, this is Archie," she says with a smile and watches as they size each other up.

"What's up my man?" Archie says, trying to be conversational. "How did you two meet?"
"We met at Pop's actually. Dylan was with his friends and asked me for my number. Now we're dating. Fascinating, right?" Y/N laughs and grips Dylan's arm. Archie glances over at Dylan before looking at her and shaking his head.
"No, that's cool," he says with a laugh. "Look, I have to go warm up, I'll come find you guys after the game".
"Oh, okay," Y/N responds and watches Archie run back to his position on the field.
*After the game*
"Archie, you did great!" Y/N yells as Archie walks over to her.
"Where's Dylan?" he says ignoring her compliment.
"He went home, not really the cheerleader type I guess," Y/N replies. Archie rolls his eyes slightly, "y'know what, what is wrong with you, Archie? Why the fuck are you being so cold?"
Archie drops his duffle bag and looks into Y/N's eyes, "look, I'm sorry. Y/N, I'm just not happy for you. I thought I could pretend I was but I can't, I... I wanna be with you"
"What the fuck, Archie, you don't get to say that. I hurt every single time you came to me about your new girlfriends or you sexual encounters and I hid it. Why couldn't you just-" before Y/N can finish, she feels Archie's lips on her own. She places her hands on his chest for a brief second before pushing him off her, "why are you ruining every chance of my happiness?"
