I had never had my heart broken, I'd always been way too careful about avoiding guys that could do that to me. I met Archie last August and we clicked instantly. People said we were practically inseparable. All of that changed in the span of seven minutes.
1 new notification from: Archie 💕 Hang w me tomorrow after school? I wanna study with you ;)
I smile at Archie's text but before I can reply, a text from Cheryl pops up on my screen. When I click on the msg I find that there is no writing but only a video attached.
"Then what happened?" Jughead asks, snapping me back to reality.
"It was of him and her... Archie and Veronica, I mean. They came out of the closet, still locked by the lips and-" I felt unable to speak and Betty put an arm around me all the while flashing Jughead a worried look.
"They weren't themselves that night, Y/N. Just promise me you'll let him explain," Betty says and pressed my hair down with her hand comfortingly as she hugs me.
"You don't get it Betty. They're pretending it never even happened. I have to go home and study, see you guys tomorrow," I grumble and pull away from Betty.
I grab my bag and sling it over one shoulder. A couple tears run down my cheek and that's when I spot Archie sitting with Veronica and a few other classmates. He sees me and does a double take, standing up from the table and trying to wave me over. He must have been able to tell something was wrong as by now I would be sitting with his arms around me. Instead I turn away and walk quickly to my bike. As I mount my bike a dorky red head stumbles in front of me so I can't move forward.
"Woah, hold up, Y/N. What's wrong?!"
"Move, Archie".
"No. Tell me what's wrong," he tries to touch my hand but I flinch away.
"I'm serious".
"I'm serious too. I'm not okay with you being upset, Y/N". His eyes melt my heart and I let out an exasperated sigh.
"I know what happened," I mutter and pull out my phone, shoving it in his face. He squints his eyes like he doesn't understand before going quiet and watching my face.
"Y/N... I'm a jerk. I'm so sorry but it meant nothing to me, I swear," he says, his voice cracking.
