"Veronica, we need to talk," I say and she sits, listening intently. "So... Madison from the cheerleading team told me that you kissed Betty. Is it true?" I ask her and she shrugs, making my heart drop.
"It was only for show. Betty could have made the squad that way, so I gave it a shot," she replied and checks over her nail polish.
"Are you seriously not seeing the problem here? Veronica, that's cheating and I'm not okay with it".
"Baby, it was only one kiss and its really no biggie. The kiss didn't mean anything to either of us," she says and leans forward in her chair to touch my thigh.
"No. I don't want to be in a relationship with someone that doesn't think this kind of thing is cheating. I'm sorry Veronica... but we're done".
"Are you kidding?" She mutters in disbelief but before she can say anything else I get up and leave, my heart and head aching all the while.
