17th of OctDear You,
I was discharged yesterday and was at HH most of the day. My legs are better now but you can notice my small limp and so far it didn't hinder me from doing small chores.
Sister Thelma said that I can go to school and work on Monday so I'm somewhat excited. But I know that there are many worked to be done -assignments and projects to finished and quizzes to make up to. So, I was preparing my self for the next days because I know I will be very busy.
Anyways, let me tell you about HH. I wrote earlier in my posts that it was an orphanage run by Catholic nuns.
The nuns are:
◎ Sister Aimee
◎ Sister Anna
◎ Sister Dessa
◎ Sister ThelmaThe children:
◎ April, 12 years old
◎ Haley, 10 years old
◎ Lucas & Loki, 8 years old
◎ Otis, 6 years old
◎ Steven, 5 years old
◎ Karl, 4 years old
◎ Dawn, 3 years old
◎ Morgan, 1-year-old
◎ Baby Zac, 7 months oldLet me tell you about them... April and Haley are sisters who were orphaned at age 7 and 5 respectively and were rescued by the police when their apartment is burned down to ashes by their mother when their father was sent to jail for abuse and drugs. Their mother was so depressed that she wants to end their lives altogether. Their mother was dead while the two of them got rescued with minor burns in their bodies. Sad I know.
Lucas and Loki are twins and were abandoned in the train station by their teenage mother. She was caught days later and the state won that she is not capable of raising the kids.
Otis, Steven, Karl, and Dawn came from different orphanage around the state and was sent to HH so that they may have a good chance to be adopted. File said that they were abandoned.
Morgan was found by Sister Dessa when she went to Oxford Monastery for a gift-giving mission. When she was in the truck going back, she heard the cry of a baby in the back and when inspection, the baby is weak due to hunger, suffocation, and cold. That's right, suffocation. Its because she was wrapped in tight clothes and his cries are muffled by it.
Lastly, Baby Zac. He was abandoned outside the orphanage when he was just weeks old. I was out for an errand and when I came back I saw a baby basket in the driveway and when I looked at it, I noticed a cute baby who is in deep sleep. At first, I was afraid if he was alive or not but when Sister Aimee came (she noticed that my truck is in the gate) she took charge and then Zac is another addition to the family.
You see, all these children are family and they mean the world to me. They are waiting for families that will adopt them. The twins are in the process of being adopted and in the final stage. In just a week they will have a new family.
During my hospitalization, a problem occurred when Haley was being adopted but she begged that she and her sister April must not be separated. At first, the family is adamant that they only want Haley but thru one-on-one, with the couple and the sisters, they came to the conclusion that they want to adopt the sisters.
Children came and go in the orphanage. That's how it works. I told you that I am happy yet sad about it but I think, during these years I accepted this setup. There are others too like Erika, Trina, Thomas, Justin, and so on and so forth that my list is long and my memory sometimes fades.
They came and go and the one left behind is me.
