"Purple."
"Red."
"Purple!"
"Red!"
"Shawn, Tinky-Winky is purple."
"Nora, Tinky-Winky is red." He retorted, and I could tell that he was offended that I didn't take his word as the holy truth.
"Oh my God. Po is red, you idiot."
Our argument over Teletubbies (yes, Teletubbies) had been ongoing for ten minutes, and it would take a miracle for me to remember how exactly we got to this topic, or how we got so into this topic.
"I'm looking it up, but just know that you'll be the only looking like an idiot if you were actually right."
"Yikes, no faith in yourself? Even you know your answer is b.s."
"You're making me want to jump out that window." Shawn says, pointing to the window that was next to the bed we were both sitting on, and I roll my eyes at him.
"Yeah? Do a back flip on your way down."
Shawn looks up from his phone momentarily to look at me, and I watch as a slow smile spreads on his face, which causes me to grin. As much as I wanted to keep a serious face, his smiles were always contagious.
"Alright, well if Tinky-Winky is red, then I get to choose a punishment for you."
"Done. Same goes to you though." I already knew what I would be making him do, since Annalise wouldn't take me to the most famous landmark here.
I keep an eye on his phone as he types in Tinky-Winky's name, although I pretend not to look. The instant that the images of the purple Teletubbie appear on Shawn's screen, he flips his phone upside down, laying it on the bed but keeping his hand on it.
"So?" I ask, and he shrugs.
"The hotel wifi isn't working."
"Oh? That's fine, I'll just use my phone." Pulling out my phone, I watch him look at me suspiciously, and as I unlock it, Shawn reaches for it quickly, his arm shooting out towards my device.
I yank my hand back so that he can't take it, and before he can attempt to take it again, I swing both of my scratched up legs over his bed and get up, rushing over to the bathroom so that I could lock it and go on my phone in peace. However Shawn realizes what I'm about to do before I do it, and sprints to the door, shutting it just as I begin to open it, and trapping me between his arms. I reach my arm out behind him, and hold my home button, activating Siri.
"Is Tinky-Winky purple?" I call out, and pull my phone back to see the responses.
"Ha!" I put my phone right in his face, and show him the first result, talking about Tinky-Winky, the purple Teletubbie.
Shawn groans and pulls himself away from me and the door, then going back to sit on the bed. As he does, my eyes widen in realization of how close we were only a moment ago.
"How did you know that?" He asks, and I laugh.
"I babysat a girl who watched Teletubbies religiously." I answer, and sit back across from him, leaning my back on the bed frame.
Indy, the five year old I spent my freshman afternoons with, would non-stop watch the show, up to the point where I began to think that her parents weren't actually at work, but instead just wanted to get of the house anytime that it was on their television screen. My Teletubbie knowledge was so extent that I would be able to pass a test on them with flying colors.
"Right, well?" Shawn asks, and I scrunch my eyebrows, confused by what he meant.
"Well?" I repeat, waiting for him to extend on his sentence.
