It had been a full week since Tennessee, and I still found myself missing it. We stayed there for five days before picking our bags up, but it barely felt like enough time. After this, the infamous Jen tour hit Texas, and Colorado. Currently in Arizona, the last stop would be- finally- California.

I was ready for California.

While Jen would be participating in The Zone, my original plans included beach time, visiting my grandmother, more beach time, and then if I had time- hit the beach.

I didn't mind that I would be alone for it either, I was sure I would make friends at the beach, and I already knew one girl who lived in my grandma's neighborhood.

But turns out, luck would be on my side. Shawn was going to be at California for almost two weeks, and by the time that Jen and I got there, Shawn and his crew would be there for two days already.

Which meant that while Jen was busy with The Zone 90% of her time there, I would be with Shawn (when he wasn't busy, of course).

I hadn't seen Shawn since Tennessee, which wasn't too long ago. He'd been busy at Texas- performing, interviews, and all that, so only a handful of texts were sent between us. We would have seen each other there, but the moment Jen and I left was the moment Shawn came.

I did, however, FaceTime Aidan once. It was when Jen and I had just gotten back from a restaurant in Arizona, and the only thing left in our schedules was to sleep. He was with Lolah, and they were both in a hotel room just sitting. The conversation was a normal one, right up to the point where Jen saw who I was speaking with and rolled her eyes.

"Block his number," my best friend said, and Aidan scrunched his eyebrows.

"Jen?" He asked, trying to place the voice, and I nodded my head.

"The one and only."

"Jen? Like, your best friend Jen? Lemme say hi!" Lolah exclaimed.

Before I could call for Jen, she flopped onto my bed, waving her hand at the phone.

"Lolah! How are you?! I haven't seen you in like- three years?" Jen smiles widely.

Jen had met Lolah at an award show once, back when both of them weren't quite as famous as they were now. They got along well, but their lives and schedules hadn't crossed yet.

Jen and Lolah spoke for a moment, until my friend said her goodbyes and grabbed her clothes to take to the bathroom for her shower. She shut the door as I spoke to Aidan, her voice quietly singing to a song we had heard in the restaurant.

The voice soon became a scream when Jen yanked the door of the bathroom open, a towel wrapped around her body.

"What's wrong?" Aidan asked, thinking that the scream meant someone had died.

"Hold on." I muted myself and left the phone on the bed before rushing over.

"Oh my God, Nora," Jen said, her eyes watering. Her hand was clutched around her neck, and I knew exactly what the problem was.

She had lost the necklace Caleb gave to her.

"Hey, its fine. Just tell him, he'll understand," I consoled.

I wasn't lying, either. Caleb was a chill person, and I knew him well enough to know that he wouldn't flip his shit over a lost necklace.
