After the bear incident, Jane was confused. Chaos was roaming her mind. She was unable to comprehend what happened in the woods. The bear was attacking, one moment the bear was sleeping, at first she thought it was dead on the ground, another moment she found herself standing right next to William without any effort.

Jane had read many stories about magic, her favorite was Harry Potter. She was a big fan of Hermione, her favorite quote was when She told Harry to be careful, "Books! And cleverness. There are more important things in life- friendship and bravery..." It was such a deep moment that a person might sigh, shed a tear, or even wish if only friendship could be that powerful in reality, and to a certain extent Jane wanted her life to be magical. It would be much easier. As a result, she can help her mom live a normal life instead of being like a robot. It was weird to miss a person who was always sitting beside you, physically present but mentally was somewhere else. Jane felt this way, and it burdened her heart.

The bear incident had awaken these hidden feelings that Jane attempted to ignore. Metaphorically speaking, a person can hid his/her inner fear or desire, but can he/ she be able to truly forget. Time would be the judge of that.

William was sitting on the wooden chair, the black kitten was licking its milk and Jane sat on the edge of the bed waiting for William to explain as he promised. She kept twirling with a strand of her hair. She did that whenever she wanted to alleviate some of her anxiety.

William rubbed his forehead, he was about to say something, but another voice interrupted. "Should I explain the situation?"
William as well as Jane stared at the direction of the sound, of the only other living being in the room.

Jane's heart was beating fast, she wasn't used to animals speaking. She wouldn't for sure be as cool as a cucumber.

"You," William pointed at Phoenix "don't even try to talk, you made things worse last time"

Jane was thankful because it was hard for her to listen casually to talking animals. However, how was William acting normal? Is he even normal?

William interrupted her thoughts, "Jane, before I start explaining, I want you to bear something in mind. I am never going to hurt you, I brought you here against my will, I had no other choice, but only time would prove my good intentions."

Jane didn't know whether to trust him or not, she was stuck with him. She was lost for words.

William considered her silence as a permission to start talking. "I want to do something." He moved from his seat and walked over to her, Jane as a reflex stood up too. Jane didn't know when did William held her shaky, cold hand,"Jane, I want to show you-"

"Show me?" Jane raised her eyebrows.

"Everything will make sense, you will understand everything," he said never letting go of her hand.

"Now, look into my eyes," his voice was like a magnet, she looked and his once grey eyes turned from soft to dark. His eyes were like a fog, Jane found herself on a muddy road. From a distance, a gleam had emerged.

Follow the light, a deep voice echoed

Follow the light, a deep voice echoed.

Jane hesitated but a wind blew through her hair urging her to walk. She walked and walked until she heard a voice. She stopped in her tracks.

The voices were getting stronger. She turned to the direction of the voice, and there before her a white horse was coming straight through her direction, a man riding as a conqueror kept moving in his path. Jane was paralyzed. She didn't close her eyes. She preferred not to live her last moments in darkness. The horse's legs trotting, one leg following the other until the horse passed through her as if she was merely a mist. Bewildered by what happened, She ran to the nearest tree and attempted to touch it, her suspicions were true, her hand went through the trunk. Was she a ghost or a Fantom?

Keep moving, the voice spoke again.

She followed the same muddy road, the light appeared again. It was getting wider and covered her eyes. The light flashed on and off until it became dimmer. Jane couldn't believe her own eyes, there stood in front of the rider a charming woman.

She was the definition of pure beauty. Wearing a white dress, with her long white hair, soft white skin, and lavender eyes. The rider stooped down and rested on his knees. The lady had a soft smile, her cherry lips portrayed affection. The rider mumbled incoherent words for Jane to hear, but she did notice the tension. The beautiful lady was frawning. Jane walked closer hiding behind a tree, her movement made the beautiful lady turn her head.

Jane felt her heart in her boots, but little did she knew that the beautiful lady was being trapped. A scream was lost behind the thunder that rolled overhead. The sky was so low, the beautiful lady was on the ground, men remained in there positions. They were alert. A man blew ice from his mouth another threw fire and thunder boomed. Amidst the hustle and bustle, a man roared, "Stop!" He threw himself on the beautiful lady who was pale and motionless. The man was non but the rider on the white horse. The attackers did stop throwing their wrath. The rider looked at his lady. He had a dagger.
"Don't be a fool, Jaiden," a desperate scream came from a man who was clenching his fists.

Jane thought the rider will stab himself, but Jaiden made blood seep from his palm, he covered his big hand with the paler one.

"No wound shall be mended...
No broken heart shall be healed...
Hatred and grief shall conquer the
land and its people_ "

Before he could finish, the pale lady opened her eyes. A single tear was wiped by Jaiden.

"Only the golden compass shall release you from this curse, only those with true hearts are the ones to seek its path to prevail balance and order once and for all"

With that he sealed his curse with a kiss, and they disappeared into thin air.

Jane looked astonished while staring back at the grey eyes that sparkled like storm clouds right before lightning hit.
