Large pillows of clouds were huddling in the middle of the sky. Out of no where, wind started moving the trees back and forth. Lightning flashed and thunder boomed as if someone was beating on the biggest drum in the world. A grey curtain of rain was visible.

Jane was hiding in the coffee shop that was located just near her school. It was unfortunate for her since the world was gone outside. All she had to do was wait for the storm to calm down.

Looking out the window, she could see the towering trees swaying with the wind, back and forth. It seemed that mother nature had lost its marbles. She could hear the pitter-patter of rain tapping on the foggy window.

Jane turned her vision to the customers that were huddling while sipping their hot drinks. The restaurant was crowded, all was waiting for the rain to cease. A strand of Jane's brown hair was flying with the abrupt rush of wind that entered with the new customer who came rushing to sit in front of the only vacant place which was Jane's table. Jane was startled at first, but the guy was wet and his hair was dripping on the table. She offered him a napkin to wipe his face, and he took it with a nod of appreciation.

She didn't want to be caught staring, but Jane could hear the rattle of the guy's breathing. His delicate black hair fell onto his bushy brow, his skin was all latte with dark grey eyes that bore a hard expression, a bit irritated, and staring deeply into her blue ones.

Jane at that moment couldn't keep her eyes off him. His face looked puzzled at first but then he offered his hand and with a smile,"thanks for the napkin, I'm William at your service.''
''Jane, and you're welcome,'' Jane said with a quick shake. Then, she turned away to look back at the window with a tinge of embarrassment for being caught staring.

William was tapping his fingers quietly on the table, Jane guessed that he was probably bored, but when she looked at his face he was somehow irritated and out off place. His hair lied inky about his face, hanging in clumps. "If I were you, I would order a hot cocoa, you would feel warm," Jane advised. William just pulled his phone, he checked the time, then looked back at her and nodded, "I think you're right''

While William was still drinking his cocoa, the rain started to slow down and wind died. It was safe to go home. Jane stood up, drawing William's attention with the process. He stood too and he was a head taller than Jane. ''You should finish your drink, stay warm or else you'll get sick for sure,'' with that she left with the thought that she'll never see William again.

Jane was always the type of girl who would speak her mind even if it meant getting in trouble. She always gave advice to her friends and family. However, she never talked to strangers nevertheless tell them what to do. But William looked like a normal dude, there was no harm.

The sun's golden rays were still hidden behind the dark clouds, Jane was running as fast as she could before rain start falling again. Her shoes became wet from stepping on one of the puddles, she stepped aside trying to take a breath when she heard a weak voice. She followed the voice until she entered an old building lot, she picked it up, it was a black kitten. The kitten was shivering and was wet too. Jane couldn't leave it there. She knew it would die. She hid it in her bag and continued her way back home.
