I looked over at Mason as I placed a plate on the table in his backyard outside. He smiled and glanced back at the sliding door leading to the house that Ivy was standing in front of.
"Why don't you just let her go?" He asked walking closer to me so she couldn't hear. It had been a few weeks since her friend was admitted to the hospital and Ivy wasn't doing good.
I clenched my fists and looked over at her and then him. "She won't tell me who beat her up. This is her punishment. I understand that it's wrong but protecting family comes before anything." I stated as I shoved past him and walked up to Jess. "I'll be back, I need to get something from my house. Keep an eye on her, I don't want her leaving." I ordered as I walked to my house.
I climbed through my window and into my room. I slid a cardigan on, not wanting to wear one of the guys hoodies. I don't know if I believe Mason and I'll cry if I wear Finn's. It's gonna get really cold tonight. It was almost winter and apparently winter here was super snowy and freezing.
I climbed back out my window with my phone in my hand. I sat down in one of the chairs that were at the table in Masons back yard. "What's everyone doing for Christmas break?" Chase asked curiously.
We all shrugged, this was currently the end of our thanksgiving break. In two weeks it would be Christmas break. "Probably going down to see some old friends in Florida." Ivy spoke up.
I looked over at her and sighed. "I won't be doing anything. I'll be in my room the whole time." I said truthfully.
Hunter didn't like that idea. "I have a cabin, why don't you guys, the ones that aren't doing anything go up there? I have to stay down here and see my family, but you guys can go." He offered.
I wanted to accept his offer but wasn't sure. "I'm in, I have nothing to do anyways." Mason muttered and his sister gave him a sad look.
"I can come down for the first few days." Jess didn't elaborate on why.
I looked to Chase who was staring at Jess. "I can try to come down for the first half, I don't think my family will mind me being gone." He said happily.
Ivy took in a deep breath. "I'll go down, but only if I can see Lex." She crossed her arms and stared at me. She hasn't really been speaking much until today.
I looked at her and knew that she'd be better off being with me than here where I can't keep track of her. I stood up and stared at her. I started to walked towards the gate and turned around. "Are you coming? You said you wanted to see your friend right?" I asked and she jumped up with excitement making me smile.
I looked over at Mason who gave me a thumbs up. "Really?! I can go see Lex?" She sprinted to my car and impatiently waited for me. "Come on! Let's go!" She squealed.
I chuckled as I unlocked the car and we both got in. I drove her to the hospital and she stopped at the front desk. "Hi, can I see Alexis Keller?" She asked politely.
The girl at the front desk looked Ivy up and down before clicking her tongue. "What's your name?" She asked looking through her computer. She gave the girl her name and then told us Alexis' room number.
Ivy sprinted through the halls and to the elevator jumping up and down. When she found the room she entered quietly. The girl laying on the bed was adorable, she had light brown, wavy hair, green brown eyes, and pink cheeks. "Lex?" She asked quietly.
