The funeral is on a bright day. A sunny day.
Just how Dan would like it.
Enzo cries, and Dan's mum and dad and sister cry, too.
But at the end of it, Dan's sister stops crying just long enough for Enzo to pull her aside.
"Why aren't you angry with me?" Enzo whispers. Because although Artemis hasn't talked to him - not real, proper, I-want-to-talk-to-you talking - she hasn't glared at him, either, she hasn't shouted, she hasn't...anything.
Artemis just looks at him. Her eyes are red and puffy, from crying.
"Why would I be angry with you," she says, "when you made my brother so happy?" Her mouth puckers. "Dan loved you, Enzo. Don't forget it.
"Don't you ever forget it."
