Chapter 5
P.O.V MargaretAs I drove home a feeling a calm brushed over me. I don't know if it was that I survive the first time dropping my only child off at an all white school; or that the man running the school promised to take care of the only thing that matters to me. When I finally reached my tiny yet cozy home I went through the front door and took a seat on the couch. Our house wasn't that special it was a two bedroom, one bathroom home. The only reason I could afford this was because when my grandfather passed away he left my ex husband and I a nice amount. When I divorced my husband he got nothing. Life has been hard raising a child when you are just a child yourself. I never went to college, that's why I want Addison do be at the best school so she can go to a great college. I hope she's okay. Mr. Payne told me, well he promised me he would take care of her. There is something about that man that I just can't shaken.
