Your POV:

"Olympics semifinals," Cheney said. "I've played in them, never coached them." She said. "I'll be honest with you guys, I'm nervous." She nodded. "But this group is special and I'm honored to be coaching you guys. It's us or New Zealand."

Kelley stood up.

"No." Cheney said.

"What? You don't even know what I was gonna do!"

"You were gonna quote a movie you recently watched and try to pump us up."

"Yeah." Kelley looked down.

I laughed. "Cheney. We're honored to play for a coach who believes in us like you do. Even as a player you never let this team down, and we won't let you down. It's gonna be us coming out on top. Because we have the best coach in the world leading us." I looked at Becky. "And a kickass captain."

Carli coughed. "Hello." She waved.

"I said what I said."

"Y/N's right." Tobin stood up. "We got through the Jill era with a gold medal how I will NEVER know, but Lauren you know what you're doing and knowing that. We got this."

"I'm making a change." Cheney said. "Mal you are our secret weapon today, you're on the bench. ARod are you ready?"

"Always." She smirked.

"Good. You and Y/N are together up top. KO, Kriegs, I want you guys to have as much freedom as you need to get the job done. Abby, you are on corners. Y/N and Tobin free kicks. If one of you thinks you have a better shot than the other, do what you think is best for the team. Morgan stay back, help out Abby and Becky. Rose tear it up out there. Morgan Andrews, how do you feel about getting your first start?"

"I feel like I might throw up."

"I did the same thing when I first started." Mal smiled.

"All of you that play for the Breakers, I know that everyone has been doubting your playing abilities. That's why most of you are starting together. You're all great players or else you wouldn't be here right now. Put all the negative comments away right now. Listen to me and me only. You are ALL fantastic players and you all deserve to be here. Every single one of you brings something different to this team and that's why you are here. Now listen to each other, trust each other and we will be the top coming out on top."

We all huddled together.

"TEAM ON 3!"

No one's POV:

"Welcome to the Olympic semifinals. The USA facing off against New Zealand. This USA roster has a few faces you may recognize as Boston Breakers. That team is in 8th place currently, so how are players from an 8th place team gonna help the USA advance to the gold medal match?"

"They aren't 8th place players. Just because the team is in 8th place doesn't mean all the players aren't deserving of a spot on this roster. I trust Lauren Holiday and what she's doing with this team. The Breakers have a lot of young talent like Rose Lavelle and Morgan Andrews who are both getting the start today along with the newest Breaker, Y/N L/N."

"Yeah and keep a close eye on Amy Rodriguez, the mother of two has not shown any signs of slowing down since returning to play after the birth of her son Luke in 2016."

"She'll be partnered with Y/N L/N up top. Alex Morgan on the bench we expect to see her in the 2nd half."

Your POV:

I stood in the tunnel waiting to walk out. Kriegs was in front me. "You've worn so many numbers I don't even know which one you prefer." She said.

I don't know either, Kriegs." I said. "Wearing 12 is a little scary though."

"Why?"

"Cause Lauren Cheney wore it, kicked ass in it, retired in it and now I'm wearing it." I said. "Plus she was one of my favorite players, and now she's my coach."

"I think I'm going to throw up."

"Morgan you'll be fine." Rose said.

"Just imagine we're in Boston, walking out to place the Courage or something."

"Can we forefit now?" She covered her face.

"Rose." I sighed and face Morgan. "Look. You are going to be fine. You got called in cause you're talented and you can handle this. You aren't on Boston right now, forget about what everyone's been saying. You are at the Olympics, playing for your country. You can do this. You'll be fine and we are all out there with you."

She nodded. "Ok. I'll be fine." She took a deep breath. "Thanks Y/N."

"No problem."

"I could've done that." Rose scoffed.

"You gave her a fucking heart attack!" I slapped her. "You idiot."

"Are you guys gonna do that when we get back to Boston?" I looked. "Hi. Rosie White."

"If Rose stops being an idiot I won't have to." I turned back around.

"You're the idiot." I felt a hand slap my neck.

"GUYS!" Krieger turned around. "Can you at least TRY to act like adults?"

"Can you try to not be so hot all the time?"

She smiled. "No I can't."

"Than we can't be adults." Rose said slapping me again.
