Mission day 5

Miley woke up with the sunrise, not in a wonderful mood, but not in a dark mood either. Dragging her feet, she pulled herself to the bathroom and drank a glass of fresh orange juice. It surprisingly calmed her and helped her fight the imperative and indispensable urge to cut.

Before she could think of anything else, her phone rang loudly like a soothing yet critical melody. She thought about ignoring it, but the continuous whistling changed her mind and she reluctantly walked back to bed. Watching her phone shimmer with notifications, she picked it up and naturally smiled while hearing his voice. It never failed at making her feel better.

"Good morning, Miles. I have valuable updates."

He has always been a straight-forward man and it honestly amused her. Feeling much lighter just knowing that he was at the other of the line, she asked: "Is it about Cole's new weave or the actual mission?"

Nick chuckled seamlessly, his smile widening, and answered: "Even though I'm dying to discuss with you about Cole's new Afro, there is essential news which I need to communicate first. In brief, the results of our investigation are rather simple; Jill Yellow corresponds with Zac Efron and it is confirmed. The next step is to locate him."

"That won't be difficult,| pointed out the mysterious woman cautiously. "Selena will obtain this detail between two informatics moves, so I don't doubt. Then, we can finally head to the kidnapper's location and save Beatrice."

"Regardless of her yesterday's weird and squeaky voice, I believe that we will successfully complete this part of the mission. Selena is skilled -incredibly skilled-, and I have no worry for her. But there is another aspect, too; Demi told me yesterday that our girl is in love. Can you believe Selena fell in love with a security agent?"

Miley gasped, a little worried, a little surprised, but mostly excited for her best friend. How come she was the last to know? It's true that they didn't talk to each other at all during these five days. No calls, nothing. She missed her deeply.

"I'm happy for her!" She exclaimed, jumping out of the cozy bed. "But does she trust the security agent, though? He can't denunciate us to the Security Chief of the country. Even though we will be covered, our secret organization might get in trouble. Police and America's security team are two distinct things."

"That's what I'm worried about," sighed the leader rather grimly. "It will be dreadful if it happened to be one of Zac's disciples, and the whole scene was, in reality, a deliberate attempt of fooling us."

"Yes, it will be horrendous", Miley agreed, fear rising in her. "I'm scarcely uptight, but on another hand, we all know that Selena is a prudent girl. She will not make this kind of mistake, and I'm fairly certain of it."

Although she couldn't literally see it, she knew Nick nodded with approbation. It must be their peculiar telepathy coming back in a full circle, but she didn't complain. There are days like this during which they simply feel a strong connection; of their hearts and their minds.

"You're right. I sturdily do believe in Selena too," confirmed Nick. "I don't mind if she buddies up with another man, in the condition that it doesn't come across our mission. But truthfully, I am delighted to hear that she's in love. She indubitably deserves a little bit of happiness in her life. She gives, gives, and dedicates herself to the people around her, and I'm happy to hear that she also receives love."

Miley smiled, sharing his opinion. They were masters in terms of discussing other people's love lives, but never theirs. It was like a taboo subject.

"Now, tell me about Cole's Afro. Does he look great with it, which I don't doubt?" the brown-haired agent giggled, frivolous. "Or did his change his style of clothing, too?"
