Things have changed. That's what Miley realized when she walked down the street with her bags of clothes. Yes, she has decided to abandon her tough shell and revolutionize her look. After the mission ended, after she received her special agent certificate, everything was forgotten. It was like the mission never existed, like they never risked their lives to trap an international criminal, like she didn't stab herself just a few weeks ago. Things were back to normal. Normal? No, not normal.
Things will never be the same after that dangerous adventure.
It changed their lives -for the better or for the worse-, and it changed their perception of the world, too. When she received her certificate which was actually an offer to become a special agent of a higher rank, she didn't know whether to accept or decline it. She wanted to, she really wanted to, but she made a decision to refuse it for now.
Why?
Simply because she realized she needed help.
After the hospital scene with Demi, they all came back to New York, parted their ways and still didn't talk to each other yet. Until the gala of last week. The only one she kept contact with was Nick; she didn't receive any news from the rest of her friends. But it wasn't a problem; she knew that they all needed space for a few weeks just to digest the previous events.
Then, she decided to face her mom and William to give them one last chance. As she expected, they didn't take it and tried to abuse her once more. That time, she was prepared. She finally called the cops, reported the whole situation, confessed everything that happened in her life since her mom started to drink. They went through a trial, but of course, she easily won the case. Now, both of them were in jail.

She never thought that she'll one day have to guts to put them there. But they both received 40 years of prison, and as selfish as it sounds, she didn't regret it one bit.
But yeah, she did realize something. They fucked her up, literally and figuratively. And that's why she will seek help once and for all, to recover herself and to be able to live her life to the fullest. She was convinced to one day, reach freedom and happiness. And that would be her goal to aim for the next years, with Nick by her side.

She was happy. That's what Selena realized when she cuddled in the arms of her loved one, watching him sleep. She won't say that it's because of Justin, because that would be corny, but it genuinely was. He treated her like a queen for the past two months, and she felt better than ever. Also, they made an important decision together that she'll tell the team during the next meeting.
Which was in fact, the last meeting.
