By the time of their arrival, the sun already rose, and the special agent was febrile. Her mind reeled with possibilities and also of ways to get rid of Justin. Said like that, it sounded like a monstrosity, but Selena didn't have a choice. Truly, she didn't need to use one of her old tricks; fate worked it's magic like it surprisingly does once in a while.
"I need to talk to you, Justin," interfered the chief, his lips twitching towards a mysterious smile. "I promise it ain't anything negative, just follow me."
The security agent frowned and threw a quizzical glance towards Selena. The latter shrugged her shoulders, bewildered also, before beaming a reassuring smile to her boyfriend. She then motioned towards the if, using a few hand gestures, and brought her thumbs up. Relieved to have support, the man obeyed and disappeared along with the hallway.
"My turn to shine," whispered Selena to herself. She carefully peered right and left, before jogging among the security guards. Her hair splattered behind her back like sunny waves, she found the national locater room and infiltrated it.
A while later, she still sat leg-crossed on an uncomfortable chair, trying to locate Jill Yellow. Oddly, the computer didn't want to listen to her. Her pride pouring out like a tsunami, she wondered if she should abandon the search. She thought about giving the mission to someone else. She thought about becoming a bartender, making thousands easily, and even thought of running away with Justin to somewhere far... Far from criminals, hate, blood, guns. Unfortunately, no existent place in the world is like that. There are always bad things, everywhere.
"Where is him?" she grumbled, kicking the trash can beside her in a moment of frustration.
Suddenly, the blocked screen seemed to revive, and she almost cried out of pure joy. Taking advantage of the American security system's weakness, she hacked it and pirated a voluminous number of illegal files before ultimately grasping the wanted information. "The Castle, Orlando, Florida," confirmed the undercover cop soberly through her earpiece. "Do you hear me, Nick? 8e Avenue, the Castle."
"All clear," responded solemnly the leader of the team. "Take hold of his location on your professional laptop, please. You know the drill. Also, I will order everyone to take the nearest fly. Our next destination is Florida, and I want everyone to be there tomorrow. Do you hear me? Keep us updated."
She tried to emulate Nick's professional tone, but she couldn't. Her heart ached like it never ached before while ensuring those dreadful words. She didn't fancy quitting Justin, but she couldn't withdraw from the mission either. It was a hard choice she'd obviously have to make, and at that thought, her face started to change color.
To avoid a panic attack, she postponed her atrocious train of thoughts and focused back on her duty. "Will do, Nick. I'll assuredly be here."
She then rapidly copied her precious dossier and exited the room. Although her trained head knew exactly which choice to make, her heart was rolling in pain.
Meanwhile
"We will see each other in a freaking week, please don't cry."
Ariana shook her head at those words, her eyes welling up with tears. She has always been an emotional person, what to do? Regaining a little bit of voice, she whispered: "I know, Mi, but I'm simply a drama queen. I cry for the simplest things, but it's not my fault."
She gawked at the couples around her saying their goodbyes and shed another few tears. Miley rolled her eyes and hugged her new friend with care. Never in her life has she become that close to someone in a few days, but it was the case with Ariana. That proves her theory number one; everything is possible, you just have to work for it.
