I blinked rapidly, my eyes trying to adjust to the blinding light. Where was I? What happened? My memory was a complete blur.

"How are you feeling, miss Lovato?"

My eyes shifted towards the nurse, who smiled at me soothingly, and I slowly looked around me. The hospital. White, mourn, sad hospital. That's when I realized the sharp pain I felt on my shoulder, and reality hit me like a truck.

I almost died.

I didn't even dare glance at it, scared to find out how serious the injury was. To speak truthfully, I didn't even care about it anymore. Not at all. All I wanted was to see my friends, and most importantly, see Joe.

"The surgery went well, surprisingly," assured the nurse nicely. "You will have to stay here for a few weeks, but there's absolutely nothing to worry about anymore. Your visitors will be able to enter in a minute, and I will have incredible news to tell you and your boyfriend."

"What?" I snapped in bewilderment, raising my head to look up at her. "What kind of news?" I insisted. She only gave me a sly smile and a little wink that made my heart flutter. What did she mean by that? Was it serious?

"You'll see." The nurse opened the door, and I melted when I saw the whole team rushing in, their eyes filled with worry. People cared about me, and it felt so amazing.

"You gave me a heart attack," Miley whined as usual, but this I knew she ain't joking. "Seriously, Demi, never do this to us again, do you hear me?"

"I could say the same to you," I whispered to her with a weak smile, physically in deep pain. I saw her eyes darken while the others uncomfortably looked around. Apart from Joe, of course; he was instantly by my side, his hand caressing my cheek before he leaned in and kissed me tenderly. I deepened to kiss, yearning for his touch, as the others tried to find a way to get out of the room incognito.

"The good news are, because there are always good news, we succeeded the mission as we hoped and we'll receive our prizes and distinctive certificate at the annual gala!" Announced Cole cheerfully, making everyone burst out in loud applause. He smirked, and added: "The Police Gala is as always next month, and I hope you'll all be ready for it! Good job, guys!"

We cheered again, genuinely happy and relaxed, but we were interrupted when the nurse cleared her throat. "Well, miss Lovato, may I remind you that we have news to tell you? The visitors can stay to listen because it'll be quite interesting."

Everyone stopped and listened to the nurse, curious about what she could say. The latter cleared her throat once again and did some hand gestures to someone who his behind the curtains; a curly-haired man who looked like a doctor. "This is one of my colleague in the hospital, and he will explain the situation to you better than I will. But to give you a quick résumé, we did some tests -blood tests- to miss Lovato while she was asleep to assure that her system was back to normal, and we discovered something even more interesting. I'll let Dr. Styles, your midwife, reveal the rest."

My eyes widened and so did our whole team's eyes when we heard 'midwife'. Why would someone with that career want to talk to us -me? It could only mean one thing, and damn, I wasn't ready for that. Absolutely wasn't.

"Congratulations, you're pregnant, miss Lovato," finally divulged Harry Styles with an immense grin on his lips. He was about to explain further more and give more details, but my boyfriend was faster.
