Undercover Cops

Chapter 1

"Why are you always in such a rush after school? "

I jumped a little, startled, and dropped my belongings to the floor. I slowly turned around and forced myself to lie once more to my red-haired friend.

"I... I have some babysitting to do in half an hour."

Ariana shook her head incredulously. Anger built her body and she exploded, obviously pissed off and hurt. "I don't know what happened to you this year, Demi! We don't even spend time together anymore, because you always disappear after school! We used to be best friends and tell each other everything, but I guess the trust is all gone! You changed so much, and I won't waste my time trying to bond with a fake liar anymore!"

I nervously passed my hand through my long brown hair and sighed. I couldn't tell her the whole truth, because it was too dangerous and I cared about her. I had to keep my double-life away from her and every curious ear at school. I hated to lie, especially to the one with who I grew up, but I had no choice.

"Listen, Ari... You're still one of my best friends, okay? Please believe me when I say that it's for the best if we stay away."

"What are you talking about?" She freaked out, " Are you a drug dealer or some kind of wizard?"

"No!" I responded quickly, " Don't worry about me, I'm fine!"

"Then why should I stay away? You know what? It won't be a problem, since I'm done with your hypocrisy, Demi! I hope you have a marvelous life sleeping around and partying because if you thought that I didn't notice the dark circles around your eyes, you're wrong!" She dramatically flipped her hair, and ran out of the locker room, on the verge of tears.

I felt awful for making her cry, but she had to understand how serious the situation is. I'm an undercover cop, or should I say a trained special agent. We are even considered as the FBI, from time to time. In brief, I'm part of a secret organization which tracks down criminals, save hostages, and go on various missions. My team is like my second family since my parents died last year when I was only seventeen. Depressed, I joined the group and the last months have been filled with thrill and action. I didn't want to mourn the death of my blood-related family, and I completely pushed away Ariana. The team saved me, taught me valuable lessons, and is now part of who I am. 

It is composed of five members including me, Demi Lovato.

Nick Jonas is our leader, the one who guides us, makes decisions and elaborates plans. Nice and smart, he prevents us from doing anything foolish to hurt ourselves. His best friend is Joe Jonas, who is a real jerk and annoying pig. Always picking on me and throwing rude remarks, we can't stand each other. I must admit that he's an impressive cop, though, regardless the size of his ego and his endless complaints.

Miley Cyrus is one of my best friends, the silly one, always cracking sarcastic jokes in the hardest situations. She possesses amazing skills, and we can almost say that guns and knives are her siblings. She's seriously a bad ass, with her leather jacket, combat boots and curly hair that flows over her shoulders.

On the other side, Selena Gomez is always positive, full of energy and forgiving. With her perfect blonde hair and stunning smile, no one would ever doubt her as the police. She also acquired a developed knowledge of computers and electronic machines.

Another person who is important for my career is Cole Whittle. He is our boss, the one who commands and provides us missions. Unlike other Chiefs, he is genuinely understanding and naturally kind.

Together, we would fight anything, anyone.

Author's note

So this is my jemi/justlena/niley fanfiction. The main character is not Demi, because there's not really a 'main character'. In the beginning, she talks a lot but it's actually about their whole team. I'm sorry for the shortness and how boring this episode is, but I promise it will get better!!
