"Daryl!" I yelled as I saw saw one of the infected trudging towards him. He whipped around with his cross bow and hit the release. Perfect shot. "Whoa Daryl! your getting really good with that, maybe now you'll finally keep your promise and teach me to shoot it?" I said laughing but still hopeful. He looked at me with the same blue eyes as Mom and Merle, not me though I got stuck with Dads pale green ones. "Maybe when you mature up a bit Johnny boy you still act like your fifteen." he said walking away. I started trudging after him in the rain. "Why do you guys always see me as some kid I'm 19! I'm perfectly grown up."

Merle looked at me with our famous Dixon smirk."John your a ditz your always in your lala land dreaming about shit." I glared at him we Dixons are famous for that too. "I don't day dream!" I yelled in frustration. Thats when we heard the moans and growls louder. Merle slapped me upside the head "See what I mean dumbass you don't think!" Merle drawled "Shut up you two we gotta go!" Daryl whispered loudly. We jumped into our small beat up truck and started on the highway to the 'safe haven' in Atlanta.

THREE HOURS LATER

"We've been sitting here for hours we'd be better off walking then stuck in this traffic we'll never make it to Atlanta before those walkers get us!" I complained hoping they'd agree to get out with me. Daryl just glared at me. He looked a lot like mom but I'd never say that he'd probably beat my ass. "Dammit John can't you shut up for five minutes you're so annoying!" Daryl said, he was getting impatient with me. "Can we go walk around then? Daryl, please I'm gunna die of boredom!" I yelled way to enthusiastically because the sound of my voice was the only thing keeping me occupied. "Get out you annoying little-" "tsk tsk Daryl no swearing around the underage" I smiled devilishly at him pointing to the two little kids playing tag running back and forth as I opened the door.

The little blonde girl was chasing the short bright blue eyed brunette boy. They had to be at least twelve, they were laughing and smiling. I didn't care if this made me seem young an weak I was bored out of my mind.

"Hey kid got room for one more player?" I asked as I ran up to the boy. He looked at me questioningly. "Only if your it!" He shouted and he started to run away laughing. The little girl looked surprised to see a change in the game and looked confused but started running when I started to laugh.

They were getting close to a little Kia looking thing when they stopped and I ran up to the boy and tagged him. " Your'e it buddy, I'm so glad you stopped I woulda ne'er caught ya." I pretended to breath heavily. Your'e the fastest pair a kids I ever met." I said and fell to the ground pretending to be tired.

"Who are you?" a brunette lady asked me. I glanced up, jumping up quickly wiping my hands on my pants and held one out. "I'm Jonathan Dixon, ma'm nice to meet you." She looked at my hand for a second then took it politely, "Lori Grimes and you too." She said sweetly and smiled.

"I hope I wasn't being a bother to your kids here ma'am, it's just my brothers back there in the truck were boring and tag sounded wayyy more fun." I said winking at the boy. He laughed and smiled at me brightly."It was wasn't it! I'm Carl by the way and that's my new friend Sofia, she's really nice." he beamed at me. Kids could just see all the good things and forget the bad, I think that's why I don't wanna mature up like Daryl an Merle want so bad.. I'm not like them.

"She does seem nice. I added, that's when I heard the moans. Daryl came barreling down the road towards me.

"John lets go!" he yelled to me. Lori grabbed my arm. "Hey! Follow us, we have a group and we were gonna head in to the mountains and find a camp it'll be be safe to be in a bigger group.". I looked at her with surprise, people

are usually never, ever nice to us Dixons. I was startled by her invitation. I thanked her and ran back to the truck I could see a huge herd of walkers coming towards us.

"Merle follow those cars going onto that back road there, they're looking for a camp and they invited us along." I said quickly. "Us Dixons?? Man, John people must see you as the good kid." He said sarcastically. I glared at him, he smirked and started laughing, I could tell Daryl was holding back a laugh to. "Who cares! Let's just go." I yelled. Merle laughed once more and turned onto the grass and started following Lori, Sophia, Carl and the rest of our new camp members.
