Not Safe

I woke up to a pain in my side and daryl sprawled out on the floor with his legs on me. "why you laying on the floor!" He yelled at me with his icy blue eyes staring at me. "I'm sleeping" an laid my head back down. he started dragging me down the hall way by my feet. "John get your ass up and into that bed!" I slowly got up and flopped on the bed stumbling a little.

"what time is it?" I mumbled. "it's two in the morning John" he glared. "why'd you wake me up then silly" I laughed. he glared. "I didn't I tripped over you, you lazy bum!" "shhhhhhh, darlena be quiet. your always loud." He tensed at the nickname I used that Merle gave him. "Get to bed John." I closed my eyes and saluted him then fell asleep once again.

Freezing cold water drenched my pounding head. I shot up and swung my fists, connecting with something hard and I heard a moan. I opened my eyes to see daryl holding his cheek. "what the hell Johnny, what was that for!?" "Why am I all wet daryl!?" I countered. He snickered "I don't know what were you dreaming about?"

I looked at him,with bewilderment that sick bastard. I charged at him. he started running down the hall way with me chasing him. "Daryl you sick pervert!" I screamed. everyone came out of their rooms in shock starring at us. daryl just kept snickering and laughing till we got passed the rec room.

My head was hurting and running wasn't helping. but that smell made me forget about daryl and head aches. eggs? man they smelled nice. I was sniffing through my nose and following the smell like a dog. Carl laughed when he saw. I winked at him. "it smells like a wild eggoness" I said in an Australian accent. he looked at me and laughed. "can I help you find the wild beast." he tried an accent but didn't succeed well. I laughed,"he went this way." I started for the kitchen.

Glenn was sitting at the table holding his head as Andrea and t-dog were passing plates of bacon and powdered eggs around the table. I nudged Carl and pointe to the eggs and we both ran over to the table sitting down quickly. Andrea laughed at us. we were to busy shovelling our eggs into our mouths to notice her. "you guys act like animals." Lori chimed in. even eating the eggs and paying no attention, you could feel the awkwardness full the room my head shot up to lori. I followed her gaze to Shane walking in. what's going on there. Carl noticed too and he put his fork down.

I nudged him "wanna see if we can find something good to drink!" he smiled at me gratefully. I ran over to the cupboards throwing them open. "bullseye!" I yelled pulling out a case of sprites. Carls eyes widened. "Is that pop!" he asked giggling. I stared at him picked up the case and started to run. his eyes shot up. "oh no u don't! get back here redneck!" everyone watched us race around the room.

I was running and didn't even see it. I tripped and slid on the flirt till I hit the wall. I glared at daryl, he smirked. I flipped him off for tripping me. Carl grabbed the case and stuck his tongue out at me. I got up and chased him. he was handing everyone a sprite as he went by till there was five left, everyone had one already. and they were watching what we'd do now.

Carl threw me one "well all open them at the same time, like a toast or a cheers for finally being safe! I kno you did one kinda last night but me a Sophia never got to drink to that one... so cheers!" Everyone started to open their cans and I saw Carl smirk. I kno what he did. I piped the tab on my can and pointed it him and all the pop started to fizz out. everyone else was dripping in pop from Carl's 'cheers' announcement. me and Carl were hollering with laughter when Jenner came I the room looking at us all.

"Why don't you all get cleaned up and come to my lab I want to show you something." we all started heading towards our rooms to get cleaned up. after cleanin we all started to file into the lab.

there was a big picture of the lights in a brain up on the screen. "this is a brain before the infection" Jenner said while pointing to the screen. it quickly changed. "and this is when the infection spreads." the lights went out the came back. then a line went through the screen and the lights went out again.

"What happened?" I asked outloud.
"he shot the patient" I looked to the voice and saw Carl starring at the screen. Shane started to yell "why is that timer counting down? What happens when it's gets to zero" Jenner looked puzzled. then decided not to say anything. I pushed him "what happens when it gets to zero!" Rick looked alarmed. "vii what happens when it gets to zero?" The voice came on to ricks question, "the laboratory will be cleansed." it's gunn blow up! We all rushed to our rooms to pack out bags. 30 mins and it could end for us here.

We started running for the door as it was closing. Jenner had his hand on the button. daryl lunged at him. Rick and Shane held him back. "Open the door please" rick pleaded. "why should I wouldn't u rather die painless then become one if them." Jenner said. "no I want a chance" he gestured to all of us. "we want a chance. to live, to try, a chance." Jenner looked at Rick and whispered something in his ear. Rick tensed up. and Jenner opened the door to let them all out.

Andrea didn't move she stayed with jaquie. I ran over to her and hugged her. "what was that for you dixon's never show emotion." she smirked trying to lighten the mood. it didn't. "Andrea Amy wouldn't want this she's want you to try not feel sorry for yourself. your not the only one who lost someone. I lost my brother the same day, I know how you feel." I gave her one last look and I walked up the stairs only to hear a boom and watch the windows shatter and fall. we all ran for the vehicles.

I was ducking behind the truck when the building blew up. "where's dale?" I yelled to everyone else. "he stayed with Andrea." Carl whispered to me. my head shot up to the sky why does everyone leave. I looked down at him and ruffled his hair. "their coming they didn't stay!" I heard Shane yell. I jumped over the hood and helped Carl over and we ran to the rest of the group only person gone was jaquie.

We started back for the highway. we were going to find a new place to stay . then the Rv's hose wore out again. "maybe we can search these cars and find some more hose" Glenn said. Rick stood on a car, "okay everyone spread out, look for as much supplies as u can and haul it to the cars we might be here awhile so keep looking."

we all started to look through the cars I found a couple of suit cases with clothes that would fir most of us. I put them In the Rv to go through later. I went to the the next car and looked inside a box of comics! Carl would love these. as I was pulli'n out the box and dragging

behind it a dark black leather jacket. it would fit me perfect I slid it on. it looked awesome. with a perfect picture of a skull and cross bones threaded onto the back.

I ran to the Rv to put the comic books away. as soon as I walked out dale hissed at me to get under a car. I dove for the ground and pulled a dead walker on top of me to hide. we waited there for twenty minutes until we thought they were all gone I pushed the body off of me and stood up. I heard a scream and Sophia went running into the trees. I ran after her.

When it started getting dark we headed back to the highway "did you find her?" Carol was frantically searching over our shoulders. Tears were streaming down her cheeks. "we'll look more tommrow carol ok get some rest." daryl tried soothing her awkwardly patting her back. he glared when he saw the smirk I wore.

I turned away and went to Carl. "I got something for ya buddy." he looked up at me as I pulled out the comic book box. "these are for me!?" he said excitedly. "ya haha as long as you share" I laughed. "I will for sure these are all the good ones" he grinned and started to read. I walked over to my backseat of an abandoned car makeshift bed and laid down and closed my eyes.
