Summer’s Love Affair
Chapter 1
“Shit! I’m really late! Damn it!” Summer cussed. It is the first day of classes after their Christmas break and her mom would definitely kill her if she finds out that she’s late again. And the worst part is, if she is late for the nth time, it would cost her allowance for the whole month! Da fvck, right?
I don’t know who takes the blame for me being late. Is my alarm clock too low that I can’t hear it ringing or am I too deaf to not hear my alarm clock ringing? Huh? What? I really don’t know either.
I run as fast as I could to catch my first class and also, I am searching for my phone in my shoulder bag to ask Charlie, my best friend, if Mrs. Miguel is in. I am desperately looking for my phone while running when someone bumped me and I fell with my butt hit first the floor.
“Damn it! Watch it asshole!” I shouted. Then I picked up my phone and answered it.
“What?” I irritatingly answered. Take note, I’m still sitting on the ground.
“Where are you? You’re 1 second late!” Charlie shouted. I know that he’s just concerned about me. He knows about the late thingy.
“Yeah. I’m coming. Some assholes don’t know how to look at their way.” I said through gritted teeth while glaring at the guy who is amusingly staring at me. I checked him out. He has fair complexion, well-built muscles and he’s wearing a black polo shirt and pants. He also has wavy hair that made him look so yummy! He has gray eyes that could easily turn your knees into jelly. Is this guy a transferee? How come they are still accepting late enrollees?
“Okay. Just hurry up.” Char said and I hanged up. I fixed myself, picked up my things and hurriedly put it in into my bag. I glanced at him who is now amusingly staring at me while checking me out. How did I know? Well, because he is looking me from head to toe and from toe to head. I can’t blame him because I’m wearing our school uniform which is a skirt, three inches above the knee, a long sleeved blouse and a knee-high socks. They say that I look so hot with this attire and I do not doubt any of their comments because a lot of guys drool over me whenever I walk past them.
“What are you staring at? Move it bitch!” I raised my brow at him and hurriedly run towards my class.
As I reach our room, I slammed the door open and they all gasped. Yeah, I know. I’m hot. And also, I’m late again for the nth time that’s why they are all staring at me.
“So, Good morning Ms. Dela Vega. As usual, you’re late. You missed my announcement. Don’t you know the quotation that ‘An early bird catches the worm’?” Mrs. Miguel scolded me.
“Well ma’am, as the saying goes, ‘it’s better late than absent.’” I smiled sheepishly at her and my class mates just laugh at what I had said.
“Okay Summer, you may now sit down. You’re lucky that I’m not strict when it comes to your attitude. I don’t know to your next adviser if he will tolerate that kind of attitude.” It’s my turn to gasp when I heard what she said.
“Excuse me, ma’am, I think I’ve misheard. Can you please repeat what you just have said?” I asked. I’m hoping that she’s just pulling my leg and say “Got you, Summer!” then she will laugh hysterically because of my face just like the old times. That’s why she’s my favorite teacher.
“No, I think you’ve heard it right. It was my announcement a while ago before you entered and slammed the door.” She smiled sadly.
“But ma’am, why the sudden retirement?” I asked. I was so shock that she is not our adviser anymore.
“I’m going to Canada, you know. I want to be with my children.” She smiled with content.
“Well, I guess, this would be our last meeting. I’m going to miss you ma’am.” I said then I hugged her tightly. She has been my second mother.
“I’ll miss you too Summer.” She answered and kissed my hair. My class mates also hugged her.
“Then ma’am, who will be our teacher?” one of my class mates asked. Yeah, I’m also wondering.
“You will meet him later.” She smiled. Wait, is she blushing?
“Ma’am, why the sudden blush? I bet he’s handsome.” Charlie giggled. Yes, Charlie is a gay. I punched him lightly to make him shut up.
“Ouch! That hurts Summer.” Then he pouted. They laugh.
“Well yeah. He’s handsome alright.” I heard the girls giggled and the boys, well no reaction.
“Ma’am, what does he look like?”
“Ma’am! Is he hot?”
“Does he even have a girlfriend?”
These are some of the questions of my flirty girl mates.
“It’s for me to know, and for you to find out. He will be here any minute now.” I just shrugged and looked at the window with my headphones on. I can see that it’s kinda cloudy. The hell, I don’t have any raincoat!
“Here he is. Why don’t you introduce yourself mister to your new class advisory?” I heard ma’am Miguel said but I don’t care. She is my favorite teacher.
“I’m Mars Kent Villanueva. Your new chemistry teacher.” I heard my class mates gasped. But as I said, I fucking don’t care. Mrs. Miguel already went to the faculty room.
“Summer!” Charlie whispered and removed my headphones.
“What?” I asked him questioningly.
“Sir is asking about you.” Char said and grinned. What did I do now?
“So you must be Summer Serene dela Vega. Here is your identification card.” Someone handed it to me but I didn’t look up. I didn’t know that it’s missing. I just shrugged.
“Don’t you know that it is rude not to look at the one who’s talking to you?” he said. What the heck! I looked at him ready to answer back but I was shock that I forgot what is running through my mind and my mouth is left hanged open.
He laughed and he held my jaw to close my mouth. “It’s also rude to drool over a person who happens to be your teacher.” I didn’t understand what he just said but one thing that is clear in my mind, he is the one who bumped and stared amusingly at me sitting in the ground like he is watching some kind of a sea lion show. He didn’t even have the guts to help me up and say sorry. What a true gentleman, right?
“What?” I asked irritatingly. I’m a bitch alright. No need to emphasize it.
“Well I guess, you are not listening very carefully and you are still daydreaming in my class.” I looked at him like he is some crazy, weirdo, ungentle man, yummy, hot, wait- what? What did I just said?
“Again, I’m Mars Kent Villanueva, your chemistry teacher for the last three months of your junior year.” I widened my eyes in deep shock.
“Wait, what? You’re kidding, right?” I hesitantly asked even if I already know the answer.
He smiled triumphantly. “Of course not. I’m one heck of a serious man Ms. Summer Serene dela Vega” he smirked at me. Oh no! Is this the end of the world? I’m in a deep shit! As in DEEP SHIT!
