Stumbling into the kitchen, with my new impaired vision, was hard work. It sucked up most of my energy making me almost fall and collapse onto the floor but I managed to grab onto the side of the counter with just enough grip to hold myself up with before I could rebalance myself. Getting migraines was one of the worst; they sucked completely. They make me lose energy, lose my balance, make me feel sick (and sometimes be sick), lose my vision as it goes blurry, my ears become very sensitive and my eyes to light too. They basically make my life hell, oh and they can stay around for about a week- all you need in life.
As I regained my balance, I slowly stepped a few paces in front of my previous position, shuffling my hand across the counter as I stepped, as not to fall. However, my hand bashed into something which fell onto the floor, creating an almighty crash making me scrunch my face up at the noise and cup my hands to my ears instantly. This was a bad idea as my hands were keeping me stable. I tried to regain my hold on the counter but I couldn't quite make out the shape as my vision was degrading. I started to sink towards the floor when a pair of hands found their way under my arms and helped me back up.
I turned my head around to see an out of focus Simon standing behind me; he looked very concerned but my eyes must have spoke for me as he kept his hands on me and he moved his arms around my waist securely. "Sorry, I didn't mean to startle you, my hand slipped", I told him through a slightly slurred speech.
"Don't apologise (Y/N), I'm just glad I got to you in time, you could have cracked your head and I couldn't allow my girlfriend or any of my friends to get hurt like that", he said soothingly and then pecked my cheek softly making them both heat up.
"Thank you", I gratefully replied back as I tried to reach onto the counter but missed and it seemed that Simon had noticed.
"What's wrong (Y/N)? Are you ill?" Simon asked panicky but calmly.
"I'm fine Si, like I said my hand just slipped." I didn't want Simon worrying but my words contained some fear as I spoke them and of course he would spot it. He kept his arms around me but moved so he was facing me head on. I felt him look deeply into my eyes, examining my thoughts and as my eyes were playing tricks on me it was probably obvious to tell something was up.
"You aren't fine at all (Y/N). I can see it on your face, especially in your eyes, it's as clear as water", he said gently as he stroked my arm up and down with his hand before removing an arm. He raised that arm, moving it behind him in the air and stopping once it was fully extended. "How many fingers am I holding up?" he simply asked. I stared for a few seconds, a few seconds too long.
"I don't know, two?" I said very unsure. I felt my eyes become watery but I longed the drops not to fall and before they could escape my head was cradled by one of Simon's hand, the other still around my waist and my face was buried in his chest.
"You've got a migraine again haven't you", he whispered into my ear sympathetically before kissing the top of my head. He continued to hold me tightly telling me I should have just told him because it wasn't my fault. A minute or two passed in the comforting silence before it was broken. "Come on, you need to get some rest", Simon said removing his head from on top of mine and moving slightly away from me, but not too far. I finally removed my face from his chest and looked up to his calming blue eyes.
He took hold of my hand, placing it into his own, and then stretched out my arm until my fingers touched his bare skin; my hand then sat securely around his neck. What happened next came as a surprise as my feet were swept off the floor and my body moved without me commanding it to.
"Simon! You don't have to carry me", I blurted out in shock.
"I want to", he replied then quickly placed a finger over my mouth playfully not giving me chance to reply or wanting me to. I just rolled my eyes a little in response.
He took me upstairs swiftly, and when we reached our room he forcefully kicked the door until it opened. He took a second to look down at me, pulling a funny face whilst smiling which only made me giggle and I managed to give him a quick kiss on his nose before he moved again (well I think it was his nose, it was a little hazy). He slowly walked over to the bed and carefully lowered me down once he'd reached it.
"You really didn't have to Si but thank you", I said sweetly before hugging his torso.
"I told you I wanted to (Y/N) so stop", he hastily said with a serious face making me lean back a little but his expression soon changed to a smile showing off his teeth. "I'm sorry, that was horrible", he replied before taking me back into his embrace where I covered my face in his arm; we stayed like that for a few moments before Simon interrupted.
"You need to get some rest now babe, no excuses", Simon instructs me with a gentle tone as he slowly moves away.
"Alright, but one last thing", I eventually say giving in mostly.
Simon doesn't even ask what as his lips are already pressed against mine, passionately for a few seconds, but then he annoyingly pulls away after one kiss and I couldn't help but let out a little moan of sorrow.
"Rest", he simply tells me softly but I lean closer to him, grabbing hold of the back of his head, and kiss his neck. He starts to push me away, failing, but he gives up after a few attempts knowing I won't stop until I'm done. I stopped however after his last attempt as I found it too cute, removing my face with a smile stuck upon it.
"Two can play at that game", Simon said after seeing my smile. There was a smile however regrettably upon his face too that couldn't be kept hidden.
He leapt onto my lips almost instantly and brushed his hand through my hair smoothly. I moved my body closer to his and as I did so I took hold of his neck with both of my hands, looping them together before Simon kissed me again, this time more fiercely than the last. I couldn't help but smile into the kiss and I felt Simon bite down on the corner of my lip tormenting me, making me want more so I bit down on his lip too. I felt him wince a little but he soon after pulled away. I was now somehow lying flat on the bed with Simon overhead; he smiled down at me and the wrapped duvet that was now around my body.
"Hey!" I exclaimed.
"What? I told you to rest and now you will", he replied still holding the duvet over me whilst he got off the bed. He removed his hands but stayed by my side, waiting for my reply or for my actions to come.
"You're such a tease", I followed up with a little angered, but also feeling relaxed.
"Well you love me for it either way", he teased and chuckled a little; it was true though. "And you're not escaping me or your rest so sleep tight babe", he continued with sweetly before holding the top of my forehead, kissing it lightly and smiling as he inched away, whilst still keeping an eye on me. I finally gave in and closed my heavy eyes.
